Dash Screen Protection?

Has anyone been able to source screen protection for the two dash screens? PPF won't work obviously because thats a wet application. I'm reluctant to get this one since I don't know the source:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks in Advance...

Yes, get that one (as long as you have a left hand drive car!!!) and this one as well:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NVBPX3B/

Fits perfectly and really makes the screens look more vivid!!

Before getting that one, search the forum for other threads discussing it. For example, I never made that one (LFOTPP) work, first was replaced, second ultimately refunded. See threads.

See this thread:

https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=24530136

For the LFOTPP the first one that I got had edge damage (picture in thread) and the replacement while installed successfully was a mm or two off on one side, but unnoticeable. I kept it anyway and it is still okay.

Thanks all. This is really helpful. For those of you who got the LFOTPP products, how is it if you had to remove them and re-install new ones? They don't scratch the screens or leave residue or damage in anyway, correct?

I'd hate to get one and have to remove it, only to find the backing damaged the screens in some way.

Thanks again for all the input.

I don't get it - why don't people do a search before just happily starting a new thread? At least 3 posts related to this topic have been going on since March/April of this year!

To be fair; forum searches SUCK!!! It would be best for them to go to google first and search then it will take them to the forum... hehehe

It is typical screen protector. It shouldn't scratch the screen. After I removed the defective screen I just cleaned the iDrive screen with the provided kit and installed the replacement. No issue so far.

I just ordered the LFOTPP one and will bring it with for my PCD next week.

Hope I can avoid the try twice situation, but I'd like to have something on the screen for the journey home.

I dont really see why this is necessary. Never had an issue with scratches on any of my iDrive screens and I am a perfectionist...

I don't get the point of a dash screen protector … but I know what we need...a clear door handle protector that fits our car. My wife's nails have scratched the heck out of the paint below the handle.

Use PPF for that.

Updating - I purchased the LFOTTP one and had it shipped to the Greenville Marriott for my PCD. The protector was in fine shape when opened up and applied to the main screen without many problems. There was a bubble at the top edge that just wouldn't offgas for the first 36 hours, but the bubble was not visible at all from the drivers seat. I was in the passenger seat for a few minutes last night and the bubble is still there but it's now just a little sliver, maybe .5-1.5 mm wide and 2-3mm long. At the very very top edge - again I don't see it at all when driving, so it's staying as-is.

Echoing this - any detailing shop (if you're uncomfortable doing yourself) should be able to give you just the door-cups in ppf for a hundred bucks or so.

You just confirmed my observation about sides being off a bit but unnoticeable. It is consistent with both copies I got. The replacement I installed after the first looks good so far, no bubbles or edge damage (like the first).
