Inter Milan has only 3 Italian players Materazzi, Favali and Toldo. A few weeks ago they bought Grosso and rumours are that they will buy Luca Toni and Zambrotta. Materazzi was the only Inter Milan player in the Italian national team.

Bella's right of the pitch the players are all friends.

Remember that Materazzi scored the tying goal in the final so he does deserve the trophy, whether you like him or not.

I saw Materazzi last night at the Stones Concert in Milan and the crowd went wild...all he had to say was "campioni del mondo" and the whole stadium started chanting and stomping their feet - for a muniute I thought the balcony I was sitting in was going to come down...I have some pics and will post them later...

It's sad that for World Cup level soccer it's getting to be that half of your ability needs to be based on your stamina and the sport, and the other half on your acting abilities. The overly done fake falls, grabbing their heads, or writhing in agony on the ground reminds me of the WWE. It's funny at first, and makes me want to turn the channel after a while.

There are limits to trash talking, but it happens in every pro sport. The original reports that got people here fired up were not correct. He was not called anything like a terrorist, or had his religious beliefs thrown at him. Zidane did say that there were momma and sis digs tho, which is very wrong, but he shouldn't have done what he did in retaliation. It was plain stupid and cost France the cup.
