Stunning. Not sure if there is anything that I do not like on the new X5.

Couldn't agree more. They really did a nice job with this one. Interior looks great too, hopefully the quality/design carries through to the likes of the next 3 series as well.

I like almost everything about it. I think the drop down package shade is cool but another thing to go wrong if you purchase one; a lease-eh..who cares if it breaks 3yrs down the road. Same with the dual 12" displays with gesture control. A lessee won't care but a purchaser should worry. Also, the grill vents that open..what happens if they don't?? Hopefully BMW has a manual release to pop them open in the case they stick. Overall, I'd certainly put it on my list to get along with an extended warranty .

Hate the new grille design so much!! Looks so obvious. Good job BMW, now you can be sure everyone can see the grille from 10 miles away, even people with bad cataract will see it too, lmao!!

They're way too big, but BMW's have been easy to recognize from the front even when the kidneys are tiny.

I, however, can name a few. First and foremost... sitting position being a foot too high. How can an SUV give any pleasure at driving if you sit as if in a truck or a horse carriage? It's impossible for me to understand why people want to sit like that and sway in every single turn and corner

But, a handsome looking vehicle, nonetheless

Have you driven an X5? My E70 handles like its on rails and corners flat.
I think its an exaggeration to say its sways.
The F15 has a softer ride but in sport mode it handles great

I have driven the outgoing F generation model. It was too soft, too high, too swaying. It was a diesel, I have no information about the type of suspension it was on. I couldn't get to terms with how it handled

I drive a lowered and stiffened F10 5 series (also a 3-liter diesel), so this may influence how I perceived the X5

Also, all cars should be painted white. I can't imagine anyone being able to stand driving something painted red, blue, or heaven forbid yellow. Madness!

Okay, let's end it there. I wasn't planning to start a thread of denial towards SUVs. I get it that some people like them, even if they're painted blue, red or black...

I'd take mine in silver, just to make a point

I believe the active shutter is open by default. Mine on the M550i actually malfunctioned and wouldn't shut. I sent it in for service, it requires removing the entire lower bumper and some other parts to get to it - took two days to repair.

Having never owner either brand I can honestly say their are very few Mercedes that have appealed to me over the last 25 yrs. I feel their styling leaves much to be desired both in exterior and interior designs. Sometimes looking guady and over-designed. BMW has always kept their designs traditional, timeless and understated which fits my personality a lot more.

If I was a social media addict and wanted everything from little kids to grandmas to think I "made it" I would pick the Mercedes.

If I cared more about simple/clean lines and the driving experience more than what others thought about me definitely a BMW.
Very well said.

A coworker and I have rival cars (I have the X6 50i Msport while he has the GLC Coupe, 6 cylinder engine)While my car is higher tier in every aspect, most of our less knowledgeable coworkers usually show mild surprise when my car proves to be the better of the two.

When I say better of the two, I'm not trying to come off as arrogant or pompous, but that most things people compare between BMW and Mercedes-Benz, (price / Performance / power / prestige since the GLC is a blatant copy of the X6 / aesthetics and build quality which I understand are subjective) my car is simply higher tier. The badge has no weight in this comparison.

Even though the ignorant may belive the tri star badge makes his car better than the rounded on mine, it just a fact that my BMW is superior to his Mercedes in this particular case
