Why me? I gave my # to this co-worker of mine. She's married and knows I'm married, I figured what the hell and on her day off today she's texting me? I assume she's bored at home with her baby as husband is at work.

Edit: She is the one who asked for it.

However, these are often 'anti-shock bodies' and they actually reduce the overall drag on the plane. How? They are used because of a principle called the 'area rule', which states that smoothly changing the total cross-sectional area of the aircraft along its length reduces 'wave drag' as you approach supersonic speeds. So even though you are adding surface area and weight, the overall reduction in shock formation across the plane as a whole makes it a worthwhile addition.

The windows on aircraft have rounded corners rather than straight lines intersecting at a 90 degree angle to eliminate the possibility of cracks in the aluminum due to the repeated pressurization of the cabin.

If I could smell the smoke it was truly horrible. I hate that crap.
I remember walking through the hotels as a kid with my dad. The 3rd floor was the designated smoking floor, usually. Could not walk through without coughing. We started making all the prime properties 100% non-smoking. Now all of them are.

I can never figure out how someone could live in an environment like that, let alone sleep.

Nice! I ventured into the high channels that I never looked at before and found where they air all the F1, GT, and cycle road racing so it's the new favorite channel.

Have some friends coming over today, buddy flies in from MI tomorrow so probably go out into the city with him at night, then Sun and Mon sitting around in my undies yelling at the neighbor kids to stay off my lawn.

This is a fun one too. Aluminum, which is heavily used in aircraft skins, is unlike ferrous materials in that it has no fatigue limit. That is, eventually after many, many loading cycles, the aluminum will suffer a fatigue failure regardless of the stress level it was under. The way to avoid this is to reduce the loads on the part to low enough levels that this is pushed beyond the service life of the part or simply periodically inspect for crack propagation.

Fatigue failures are scary.

I love all aspects of aerodynamics, even the fact that you can over come it's forces with lots of power.

While i actually wear one of the least aero helmets on the market (it's one of the lightest and lets the most air in for cooling) i'm amazed at how much of a difference they actually make over 40 miles or so. Heck, every 7 out of 10 pedal strokes is used to just overcome the wind resistance. I'd never wear one of the sperminators, but they sure do help people go faster. But as you pointed out, one of the largest aero gains made on a bike is tighter fitting clothes. Going from a loose fitting jersey to a race fit jersey can save you as much as 25 watts of aero drag. For perspective, i can sustain a 237 watt average for 20 minutes. But change that to an hour and i can only sustain about 225. Change that to 2 hours and it drops all they way to 200 or so. Picking up 25 free watts is a BIG deal, but not big enough to wear one of those helmets. lol

So you are paying cash for your house?

Interesting perspective.

Money through income, inheritance, or both?

I am not sure I would want to live in a neighborhood that had houses that I would be able to pay cash for. (assuming income based earnings and not a large majority of inheritance/family money - Obviously, if one is over 50 years old and has saved for decades, this rule may change)

We will most likely go for the FHA, which means on a $300K house, down payment requirement is $10.5K (3.5% IIRC). I might not even bother with the down payment assistance as that is for really needy families. I can't be too greedy.
