I'm a bit new to leasing and live in AZ. Is it possible to custom order a car in OR(I travel there frequently) and then drive it back?

Interesting - i tried for that and they wouldn't add it on, was more than willing to do so? Oh well, saves me the trouble I guess. I couldn't get any dealers closer to home to even come close to it...

That is odd since the incentive comes from BMWFinance and not the dealer. Oh well, it is done now.

Congratulations. Good luck, enjoy and be safe.

Is it common that a dealership uses their own finance program (through some financial institution) rather than BMW finance? Should I avoid this dealership? They're applying the same $2,500 finance rebate.

Anything is possible but in general discounts have been dropping the last month or so even in NJ which had some of the highest. I think folks have been reporting them to be in the 7-9% range recently.

Reporting my deal on a 2021 xDrive40i custom order.

When: 2/12/2021
Where: DC Metro / DMV area
MSRP: $68,745 (w/ destination)
Pre-incentive / rebate discount: $6,586 (9.6%)
Finance rebate: $2,500
APR (60 months): 1.9%
Fees (Maryland): $500 (doc) & $331 (title & registration)
Tax (Maryland): $3,760
OTD: $64,250

Could've tried a pre-incentive 10% but didn't want to spend more time.

Yes. I just got a similar deal at 11%, but through a broker.

My local dealer was getting close too at just over 10%. Happy to connect you if you are in Northern NJ.

If possible, would be great if you could PM the broker and/or dealer contact info. Thanks.

I would be very interested getting your contact info for a dealer and the broker if possible.
Thank you

I built an X5 with a total MSRP (including destination) of $80,245. For a lease, the best discount I have been able to get in NJ is $9,345, inclusive of the $500 BMW lease rebate. That works out to an 11.6% discount. Given that I customized the car exactly the way I want it, I was thinking of buying it. Since the BMW rebate for purchasing is $2,500, I thought perhaps that savings would also get passed on, but the dealer would not change the $9,345 discount whether I purchase or lease. Anyone have any idea why the dealer would not pass on the additional $2000 rebate for financing? Does the dealer make more profit from a lease?

Is everyone really seeing deals close to 10% off MSRP before the $2500 APR credit? I used to get quoted pretty good numbers but our local dealers are lower on inventory and the first bid was $1000 below MSRP. Plus $2500 APR Credit and $1000 "loyalty" (I think the dealer is offering that).

Seems I should be seeing closer to $7K dealer discount on a $73K MSRP?

Definitely not everyone. In general the discounts have been dropping. Someone from Jersey posted that the best they could do was 7% and usually that area has some of the highest discounts.

I was in a similar situation in October. My dealer was stuck at 7% off MSRP (before incentives) and mentioned that it was about 'invoice price' which was more or less correct. I was looking for a 10% off MSRP deal (before incentives), but it was clear that we weren't going to get there. Wound up at 8% and the buy rate, which was OK at that time. $1k below MSRP in your case would put you in the 8%-9% off MSRP which isn't too bad given what I've seen. You'll need to address other aspects of the deal (e.g., APR, etc.) to fully assess it.

His dealer is offering $1k below MSRP not invoice.

Yup, just caught that - thanks for pointing it out. I was thinking that $1k off invoice would essentially be in that 8% - 9% off MSRP.

I just got 8% off MSRP, 13% after incentives. Worked out to $1250 under invoice.
