Most recalls just tell you to schedule the appointment, I've had quite a few on x5d. Call sa and set it up. Airbags are unique in that they don't have the parts

Hmmm, so you just have to call SA at random and ask if they have "x" items for "x" recall or not? Seems redundant if you keep calling and they never have it available.

Interesting morning....
Got a call at 7am from one of my minions letting me know that it seemed apparent that a collision had happened in front of my building. A vehicle had slammed into a power pole (providing power to my building) snapping it in half, it continued onward to take out my back pressure control valve (providing water to my building) and then hit two steel reinforced 8" concrete bollards protecting a fire hydrant. They didn't protect the hydrant as it too was removed from it's perch. The offending vehicle was made by honda, though we don't know what model it was yet. There were several parts of the car littering mine and adjacent properties. Lots of glass and signs of at least one vehicle occupant needing to be removed from EMS as we found bits of a seat belt that had been cut. After taking to more minions i learned that it happened Friday night as the damage had been done by the time they were here Saturday morning. At that point my back pressure control valve (which i just spent $1300 to replace less than a year ago) while ripped from the ground, was still intact and appeared to be functional. By the time i arrived this morning, some ass hat had stolen it, likely for the scrap value of the copper. We have 3 phase power here so the electric company required me to hire an electrician to be here while they did the repair in order to make sure they have the wired the polarity correctly. Have it backwards and all the A/C & fridge compressors, fans, etc.. run backwards and burn themselves out. Crisis averted, power has been restored. The water will likely be off for the next day or so until the valve and be replaced, at my expense, AGAIN! To make maters worse, our internet came over via the pole that was down, something i didn't think about until power was restored making my internet repair appointment for late this evening. Good think i still have internet access via my phone, can't go too long without that gay porn fix. On to what some of you have been waiting for..... My security camera system should have caught this event on camera as it does operate on a battery back up. When we set the system up i believe we set it up to access through the outside IP address so i can't access the system right now to see if the video was captured. Once the internet comes up i should be able to tell. I don't have any reason to believe the event wasn't recorded. I'd say get your popcorn ready, but it dawns on me that footage may reveal the moment someone died.

Would the vehicle driver's insurance cover the property damage once you find out who it is? Surely the EMS or a tow driver knows who did it. Although it is sad to think that there may be a reason you haven't been contacted by said person.... Florida, man. |

At least it wasn't enough to damage your structure. Had that happen to one of the hotels a while back. Not fun. |

Unrelated to the crash, but that little jog in the sidewalk is funny to me. Looks like they got to it and just said, "Ah, shit...there's a pole and fire hydrant in the way!" |

Embarrassing American confession of the day - I thought Bangladesh was a city in India. I consider myself quite good at geography normally...

Snapped a 12" diameter power pole with enough momentum to take out two more metal pipes that were 10' past the pole, then knock over the hydrant and its two bollards which were an additional 10-15 feet past the water pipes. Pretty sure what ever it was ended up on its roof or side. You can see tire tracks heading up the drain field mound and then curve back towards the power pole. Must have been a massive impact. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested in seeing the surveillance footage.

They sent one guy out here in an F150 (no bucket truck) to run cable up the pole, across the street, and under my parking lot. Wtf?!
