PSI on Michelin Pilot Sport 4s

Hello, everyone!
I am still a bit shocked that I am having to change all tires on my 2022 X6 MC after just over 20k miles. (The car came with Pirellis P Zero)
Anyway, I am getting the Michelin PS 4s. What PSI are you running on yours? Are you following the recommended PSI on the driver’s side door?

Thank you!

20k sounds about right, maybe even on the high end of expected mileage. The Michelins likely won't be noticeably better, and may well be worse since you may be inspired to use their higher capability more often. 'Tis the price of soft sticky tires on a heavy car - they don't last long.

Michelin ps4s are prob less capable/sticky than pirellis which are more like a track tire, hence the better ride quality/road noise/water shedding from the ps4s. I run 36/38 f/r the lower pressure should yield a slightly better ride quality at the expense of faster wear. If you’re complaining about 20k miles then it may not be for you.

20k??!! That's amazing. My ps4s set lasted 8k miles. They were swapped when they measured 4/32.

Sticky tires on any vehicle don't last long, no matter what they weigh.

20k is awesome. I did mine before that. I use dealer recommended pressures. I don't see any reason to go outside of that

That would be about 25k miles, so let’s see. Lol! Thanks!
They were not cheap. $2500 with install.

FYI MICHELIN offers a 50k mile treadwear warranty on the PS4S so when it's time to replace them, you can file a claim with Michelin. They will sell you a new set (or pair) at a discounted price depending on how many miles you went with them. Make sure to save any documentation given when you buy the tires and mark the mileage at the time of install.

I've done this many times and I've gotten sets at almost half price. This can be done by any reputable tire shop or at the dealership. Considering the cost of these tires, it's a big deal. Pirelli does not have a warranty like this.

Are you talking Pilot sport 4S??? Because I believe they are only 30k and Michelin requires you to register your purchase and prove maintenance records, also proof of even wear. I have never gotten one of those "limited warranties" to actually work.

Can you shed light on what company you work with like tire rack, discount, etc?? I ask because Discount requires you to do all checks at one of their locations and rotations etc or they won't consider filling a warranty claim based on mileage.

Yes the PS4S. I'm pretty confident they are 50k miles like the rest of their lineup but it could've changed.

I've had the warranty done thru the dealer and independent tire shops. I actually didn't do anything but the shop/dealer took care of the process.

As far as I know, they do need to provide a tread measurement and mileage. Also if they aren't the factory set, you may need to provide receipt for the purchase. You can call michelin and speak to a warranty rep if you want to know specifics. I called them once a long time ago but generally haven't had to deal with it.

Hate to say it, but so much mis-information on your post.

First off, the mileage warranty is 30K for the Michelin PS4S or cut in half if you're running staggered, like we all are.. so 15K.

Secondly, they have stopped mileage warranty on OEM equipped tires several years ago.

It's literally written right on their literature :

Original Equipment Tires
Michelin does not cover Original Equipment tires for mileage.

https://www.michelinman.com/auto/assistance/warranty

I actually called them to confirm this as well. They said they won't do mileage warranty on OEM equipped tires, but certain cases can be reviewed case-by-case basis.

I run mine at 34/38 psi. I find that with such high pressures they're too bouncy.

Be wary of the dealer overinflating them to 50psi and ruining the handling.

I have run my P4S 3 Bar in rear and 2.8 Bar in Front...then in hot sunny days they try to go 3.2 bar front and 3.4 back which is much...so from June I keep front 2.6 and back 2.8 Bar until September here where I live.

Thank you so much for sharing this info!!
The total for the 4 tires with installation and everything came out to $2500 at Tire Discount. Not cheap at all! Thank you again for the info.
