2023 45e Launch Control 0-60mph

So I finally had an opportunity since achieving enough OCE mileage to try Launch Control.

I download the Race Timer gps iPhone app.

Twice I got 4.7secs 0-60
For 1/4 mile 14.9

I’m not sure what Spec is, nor how accurate this app is and whether to believe it?

0-60 is consistent with Car & Driver. Quarter mile time is significantly slower, C&D tested at 13.4 @ 102mph.

Was your car empty or did you have added weight? Any aftermarket parts? What size wheels, type tyres are you riding? What type of road did you travel on? Traction control off?

Traction control is off in order to use Launch Control.
I had full tank of gas, 93 octane and was alone in the car. Road was pretty flat (Midwest) and my X5 45e is all stock except for driver and passenger window tinting.

I’ll have to redo my 1/4 mile, I might have lifted off a little.

I don‘t think it‘s was accurate. If I convert your time to 0-100km/h it would be 4,9.
Mine has 520hp and can do 4,55 sec 0-100.
Here is the dragy list. The second one with 4,81sec has JB4 the 3-4s are stocks.

Drain the tank, take everything out that is not nailed down.
I don't know how you would lift the throttle, mash it and hold it
You'll gain another 0.5 sec
Record your altitude, temp, humidity, slope if any

There should be a little book that came with your vehicle that explains many things about it.

Redline in their video review got 4.84 seconds 0-60 with a Racebox, seems close to your results.

Joe achilles did a 4.9 with a stock X5 45e 0-100km/h
so a 4.8 to 60 is possible.

Just get a Dragy if you're that worried about times.

The 0-60 measurement is a hot topic because of the 1ft rollout. That's why it's always said that XY (mostly Mat Watson from Carwow) achieve better values.
With the RaceBox you can also measure with 1ft and it gives totally different values.
AutotopNL measured a 45e with LC too.
0-100km/h 5.31sec (similar to the stock values in the dragy list above) and 5.03sec with 1ft rollout (similar to Joe Achilles' 4.97sec).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzUrsKX6I6w
So in order to compare values, we should know more precisely how they were measured. (But I hope we agree that measuring with an iPhone - 1Hz GPS signal - is not a trustworthy value) .
When I look at the dragy list, the times are compared without a rollout.
I took a stock from the list, which did 0-100 km/h in 5.38 seconds.
Dragy says it's 5.09sec 0-60mph and 4.79sec 0-60mph with 1ft rollout.
So if someone tells me stock can do 4.8, then I don't believe it - and it's my fault because I always assume the real 0-100 km/h value.
In this way it’s possible to do 4.8sec 0-60mph with a stock 45e. And now I know, that I can then specify mine with 4.05sec 0-60mph 😃

I did some testruns today on 1/4 mile distance.
Stock (dyno 442hp/616Nm) : 13,17sec@167,86km/h
0-100km/h :5,31sec (with 1ft 4,92sec)

With piggybox (dyno 523hp/746Nm):
12,39sec@180,96km/h
0-100km/h : 4,55sec (with 1ft 4,29sec)

It's the Dragy. But it's not about the app, it's about the external GPS which has a sampling rate of 10Hz.
The iPhone has just 1Hz, which is not good enough for accurate acceleration measurement.

Dragy is not the most accurate ( there are others with up to 25Hz) but maybe the most popular, and this gives you the opportunity to compare with other vehicles.

I do like the detailed report from this Dragy. But it seems like so,e external hardware is required?

Exactly, that external hardware is the 10Hz GPS module. The software is free, so you can see the times of others for comparison , but for measuring you need the GPS.
