Hmm not so sure on the trackhawk part, the X3/4M can take it in the 1/4 in the right conditions

On the hybrid Cayennes, there is a boost button in the sport chrono dial that wasn't utilized in the race, which was a dumb decision. It gives full ICE and full electric power for 20 seconds. My E Hybrid is a porker though, weighs about 200 lbs more than the Cayenne Turbo and would be about 0.4-0.5 seconds slower 0-60 than an M50i, but I am getting over 30mpg and still enjoying 455hp, so I am happy.

I agree and disagree with you. I love my F86 and hate the new X6M. My next one, if I stay with BMW, will have to be the X5M.

Would take the Cayenne all day long as the overall best package, but damn if BMW doesn't offer a hell of a bargain

This is straightline performance, it isn't indicative at all for the vehicle dynamics. I wonder why everybody keeps doing this dumb irrelevant tests?

Sadly 0-60 times and straight line performance have become way too much of an important factor in cars. The number of comments I see of people calling cars like an RS6 or Macan Turbo, (cars that hit 0-60 in under 4-seconds) slow is just absurd. Even worse are the Tesla fanboy comments.

What will happen when they go below 3 and low 2's? Speed limits aren't getting much higher. With all this speed and power, the limits of a car becomes way too high with it, so quick that you then miss out on the fun, and it becomes not too usable on the street outside of stop light racing (which that in itself is another rant).

Additionally, the chasis, suspension, and brakes aren't able to accommodate the howitzer speeds that these vehicles produce. A class P (performance) license should be considered here in the US with how shitty our drivers are, especially with these abundant 11-12 second 5000 lb SUVs.

Turns out straight line performance is pretty important to people who buy performance cars.

The x5m runs a high 11, the x3m runs a mid 11. The x3m also traps faster. Why is it shocking? The x5m is 1000lbs heavier and less aerodynamic. 100hp difference sure but that's a lot to make up for.

What do you expect to see? The tests are appropriate for these gigantic beasts. I care for neither of these cars but can still appreciate these tests. Nobody buys these cars to track them, they're comfy fast, luxurious family haulers and are practically the same outside of badging and price-points. If you care about driving dynamics why would you buy either of these?

You mean the most imposing vehicle BMW has ever built. There is no other car in BMW lineup and only few from other franchises for that matter that have its road presence. That is enough to choose it. Thus its attraction

I gave my Cayenne Turbo report 1.5 years ago when I extensively test drove it against the then new X5 50i M-Sport. Even with 30 years of Porsche 911 ownership I came away from the Cayenne with a Meh impression. In general, BMW way has underestimated their vehicles performance even more than Porsche does.

Not surprising that the RSQ8 comes last, it is about 25 horsepower less than the X6 and about 300 lbs heavier in curb weight.

I have an RSQ8 and test drove the F95 X5M when I shopped. The Audi is definitely less sharp than the X5/6M, but on the hand, ride comfort and NVH is significantly better than the F95. I chose the RSQ8 in the end based on those characteristics since I am not really going to push either SUV too hard or take them to track.

It is also arguably the best looking car among these three and looks do matter!

I beg to differ. The Porsche looks the best followed by the BMW. The Audi looks horrible with its forced 'blackface'. Reminds me of late model Silverados. Too ugly to be edgy and too soft to be sporty.
