BMW Board of Drivers Survey - electric X6M

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Ut oh.....Did anyone else get a survey if they would entertain getting an electric X6M or a hybrid “version”? The hybrid is a 6 cylinder, so how exactly is that considered M?

I think the writing is on the wall. If they go this route I hope it is an option and not the end of IC. Current lease up this year so at least I’ll get 3 more years.

ICE engine is slowly being killed off, just look at all the other automakers announcements in the past few months and current offerings. Only a matter of time before BMW offers fully electric M cars, but I'm hoping the ICE will be around longer than anticipated even if its in low volumes. In my opinion the reality is much more complex for adoption because the country doesn't have the infrastructure to support it ubiquitously and it will take much longer for people to adopt and accept. I've got friends in Cali riding the electric wave, but their climate is favorable and their state supports it. Where are all the people on the East coast in large urban centers going to be charging their cars? Probably most members on the forum wouldn't think about street parking their car, but look at cities like DC, Baltimore, Phili, NY, Boston, Chicago with large street parking and building garages; how are they going to charge their cars? I wouldn't want to have to run out at 10pm to plug or unplug my street parked car in the middle of January.

Got the same survey. Basically three options:
* ICE 6-cyl, less powerful than current M
* Plug-in hybrid 6-cyl + battery (more powerful than current M, maybe X5 45e range)
* Battery only, most powerful with 300 mile range

Don't think they even are considering first option, probably just there to tell people V8 days are gone. They might actually offer both second and third options, under X5/6M and iXM maybe?

I would love to see plug in hybrids that carries both M ICEs and full EV battery. That is when I will be interested, otherwise current hybrids+EVs are not for me.

I got the email to fill this survey out back in FEB, but just decided to fill it out this week when scrolling out of boredom.

I don't think we will get to enjoy the thrill of a nice ICE when the next version of the X6M is introduced to the world.

Plug-in hybrid + electric will raise the weight so much 😟
Full electric.. not pleasant sound from a powerful v8 anymore 🤨
The current generation becomes more valuable for ICE fans ✌
