I had G05 40i before the pandemic . Sold the x5 to get the CS.

X5:
This was purchased off the lot last minute due to tax reasons. It had msport brakes , air suspension, driver assistance , hitch. Black on black .

Solid build but I never really loved it. This was during the time when there was 8-10 percent discounts apr credits loyalty etc.

This time due to ordering restrictions I had to move up to the m50i in order to get dynamic handling , bowers .

Also , it also made sense coming from the CS.

I actually ordered an x7 40i September 29th but bmw removed the dynamic handling option from my p1 build.

I think the plan is to debadge. This is not an x5m but with the little changes it's not a real m50i.

I don't think the cerium grey x5 / m50i really matches .

A little oem + action. And the savings for not buying black badges

Congrats! That is quite the switch! Two totally different cars and driving experiences. Would be very interested to hear how you enjoy switching

The M50i is a beast and sounds like you have some good mods planned so looking forward to seeing the progression!

I need to get some more ppf done on mine (full front is covered but want to get rocker panels and around the wheels done because they get destroyed) and definitely want to do ceramic at some point but figured I'd wait a while so that its worth the polish before they apply the coating

I am struggling with the decision to PPF.

I want to keep this car for a "long time". Atleast until after the LCI . The front makes sense to keep it looking nice and easier Maintenance.

But this is also just a normal production car/ soccer mom car so it seems like a waste :

I want the ceramic just to show off the paint color .

I can’t find my bavsound tool kit with all of the torx bits so I’ve been lazy to tackle the steering wheel / paddles.

Still on my to do list

What the actual efff bmw. Now I need to go guess on the actual size of the torx. This used to be a basic 16mm hex head bolt.

———————————
Update :The bolt to remove the wheel the out to be T60.

The tiny screws to transfer over the button modules are a T9. The rest of the screws are a T20.

I bit the bullet and sent the x5 off for ceramic coating. I expect to pick up end of the week in the middle of the potential blizzard. Lollll . You can’t script this

Picked up the x5 today. Looked very mean . The yellow DRLs are surprisingly good looking in person.
