Little update. I think when I assembled the wheel I left a connector unplugged . None of the buttons for cruise control or volume on the right work. . The heated steering wheel button works. The paddles work.

I need to tear down the wheel again and there is a chance I will need to pay the dealer to reset the cruise control not working message .

I worked on the steering wheel today. Yep. I had left an entire connector unplugged .

Cruise control works during quick highway drive . Music volume works on the right side of the wheel.

I did get a weird message that park distance control didn’t work . But it went away on its own in the notifications . Something to keep an eye on..

So now the new First World Problem is finding a place I like to wash the X5 within reasonable distance from my house. The two local hand car wash spots are unremarkable. Dirty Mits, same tire brush for all wheels. No woolies. Some of the older / work cars get the brush treatment but otherwise it is the same mitt.

Name Drop a Chicago Car wash spot if you have one.

The next mod I am considering is to replace the sun visor with the Euro version without the label. Will work on part numbers. I do not have the Alcantara headliner***

Very simple . I took a tiny 1/16” 1/32” drill bit . I put a little piece of tape just so I knew where to stop. I drilled in the middle .

I then used a metal pick to yank the button off .

I have seen people online that they get it off using tape or sticky stuff . I dont plan on going back to stock so I just drilled it

Purchased from IND distribution

https://ind-distribution.com

I am somewhat local and they were doing the front lip . Painted reflectors, etc .

Otherwise shipping may have a little sticker shock

Just wanted to Update everyone that the DRL boards did throw an error code finally.

The left front turn signal is not working. I am working with the vendor to replace the DRL boards. This could have been a one off.

To clarify, the DRLS work fine. It is just that the left turn signal which is a yellow strip at the top of the headlight housing stopped working.

Still waiting on the new DRLS board manufacturing run to be completed sometime this week.

Hoping for a fix by the end of the month.

New Boards are Finally In. Hopefully swapping out on Friday.

Small update- right blinker failed too on Friday . So this means front left and right are toast.

The rears still work but you get a double flash.

Boards were replaced and lasted for 2-3 days. This was supposed to be a redesign.

Been waiting for about a month now for another replacement.

Yellow DRL's only worked for 2-3 days and then stopped working? It means the board burned out or something, That sucks
I just got it installed in my car 2 days ago .

I had the old design installed twice technically.

If you were able to get the first batch of the redesign then hopefully your will be ok. Is this the IND / Motorsport version?

The wheel i bought from a forum member a few years ago. I liked it because of the M stitching vs the plain black thread. Paid $1000.

The forum member sourced it from a dealer. Typically those things come as a bare wheel, and then you need all of the different buttons, sensors, etc. This wheel was intended to be on X3. I don't know how much he paid but when you look at those parts it adds up quickly.

The carbon fiber trim in the middle/ with leather "m performance" I had to purchase separately. That was maybe around $400 dollars.

The M buttons are purely cosmetic. I never got them coded nor do I know if the can be coded. I think it is possible but this is my wifes Daily so she is never going to use them .
