VID: X5MC Downpipe + Secondary Cat Delete.

As we all know, the stock exhaust sound is just waaaaay too muted. I did a downpipe and secondary cat delete and left the rear section OEM with the valves.

I just missed the initial engine tun-on, but what you hear in the beginning is the cold start. There's 2 revs during cold start and then the last rev is after cold start ends.

Thoughts: I think it's the perfect balance for someone who doesn't want the extreme loudness of a full exhaust system. With that being said, it absolutely roars when you get on it, but quiet when driving relaxed or leaving someones house late at night. Cabin noise is also really balanced and you can hear the turbos spool up much louder and faster!

All work was done at NextGen Auto in Closter, NJ

Thanks!

I don't have links as my shop handled all of that, but I believe the catless downpipe was from Red Star and the secondary delete was Eurowerks.

No performance tune just yet, but in terms of a CEL it was coded out.

No CEL and absolutely flawless so far. Been driving it with this setup for about 6 months now.

Sounds great. Wish there were some good downpipes on the market with HFCs that didn’t throw a CEL.

I believe it was with a cat sensor spacer

So you are full downpipe both cats first and second removed but other part of exhaust is all stock ?

If you can confirm this if I understand your post correct - show any other videos while moving and do you have exhaust drone inside ?

Have you got any further information on this, the akropovic dealer here and my tuner both advises they’ve never heard of this.

Ok, so to clarify and ((not giving you a hard time)), the shop that installed this for you did NOT code anything into the car. Instead, they use the trick of fooling the system by physically spacing the O2 sensor away from the downpipe using a standard washer. Correct?

I have been told for many moons that this method can cause mixed results as many on here would attest to.

I too am very interested in this as well. It would be great if you could provide us in detail what they say about specifically what it does as well. For example, if it just eliminates the CEL for the Upper Catalytic Converter removal or MORE.

Thanks, Mate!

O2 sensor spacers are not model specific but you do need to verify that the downpipe bung is located to allow room in your application for the spacer/min cat. There are straight and angled versions to accomodate.

Interesting. Have you personally used this on your X5M? I am guessing not.
