lucky for those of us living in the real world, it doesn't happen often.
Tranny does have problems, that's why they had to be recalled.

Congrats of the choice.

I'm so happy she went for the DSG because it matches the FI delivery far better than the manual. Candy white really does suit the GTI sytling, what rims did she get or are you intending to swap for something else?

^we went with the 18" detroits first as i think it was far more worth it than the other choices. the $$ for other OEM wheel choices are ridiculous, i could get BBS with that kind of money

Not quite champ. Quoting the article you provided yourself.

Quote:
“”Working with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) we have determined that a safety issue can be presented by a limited number of faulty temperature sensors and we have taken action through a voluntary recall. We have determined that 13,500 Volkswagen models and 2,500 Audi models are affected under this recall. We are confident that the temperature sensor is the cause of this safety issue
Plus if you watch the associated video you'll see all that happened was the car cut acceleration after the temperature sensor (purported to be faulty by the recall) detected the transmission was too hot & cut power. The driver actually was able to drive off again shortly after..

So yeah DSG is still hot & eats BMW's steptronic anyday.

Funny how you can get a better transmission in a crappy golf than a 2010 BMW 135i which is 10s of thousands of Dollars more expensive.

And then bmw owners bash audi lol.
