Cool Subaru's FT-86 Model making world debut in early March at Geneva

Anyone been following the Toyota/Subaru FT-86 concept? News from FT86club today saying that the Subaru version is finally making its debut at the Geneva motor show in March. Best news is it's RWD

But now I dunno if both Subaru and Toyota versions will be sold in the US. Wouldn't two RWD versions just eat into each other's sales?

Nissan/Infiniti does it with the G37/370z. I don't see why Toyota would be hurt by it.

Most people who buy cars don't care about their drive train specifications, internet enthusiast forums aside.

I kind of wish it would be AWD, but I still would consider buying one. The Toyota variant being RWD and the Subaru variant being AWD would have been the best, since then you could effectively choose what you wanted, since they will surely be quite similar mechanically.

Regardless, I am interested in seeing the actually concept... it's taken long enough.

I can't see this really being a sales hit any more. It'll be too expensive, not fast enough to take on the competition, and in a market niche that has long since dried up since the 90's. I hope I'm proven wrong... but thats the hunch I have.
