I do like the suggestions and it will give me something to look for or ask the local store if they can get it.
There was a post in this thread a while back with some very good info on rye versions that is worth digging out. Many brands source from the same main distillery, then age or bottle into their own variety and it listed a who's who of that so you don't duplicate. I have had Ri before, but didn't think it was as good as Bulleit and it was more expensive. Haven't gotten round to trying Sazerac or Rittenhouse but they are on my 'interest list'.

Dalmore is a fairly neutral or 'refined' scotch, personally I put it into the "MOR"category (i.e. smooth and unoffensive, like a higher quality blend). It has been ages since I had any, but IIRC Dimple is a fairly typical smooth blend. If you weren't impressed w/ the Dalmore, you probably won't be any more into the Pinch. I'd try looking at other regions to see what does light you up.

That’s a great choice, it should treat you right. If you like it, look for the 12yr Cask Strength (CS), it’s even better. I put the 12yr CS over the 15yr RedBreast.

Cheers!

Yes, it is treating me right, I'm having a few sips right now. Thanks for the recomendations, but unfortunately the range of labels available over the counter here in Oz is pretty poor. Regardless, I am always on the lookout for something new that I have not had before.

Can you order online and have it shipped? While living in Germany, I had a lot of success finding and buying good bottles at good prices on Amazon.de.
Nothing better than the Amazon driver dropping off 6 bottles for a delivery!

Again, the RB12 is a solid bottle and always a great choice.
Enjoy!

You could try contacting the purchasing agent for your local liquor stores to see about special ordering things they don't stock. I've also had some luck going directly to the distributors' local agents. Even if they don't have things available right then, they can tell you if they are eligible to import and are usually willing to put in special orders. For some brands this requires buying cases or lots of 3+ so you may want to go into it with friends.

Our market is purely big chains and they dictate what is available. But what a dumbass am I? I work at a liquor DC, and I have learned that we sell to staff. I'll have a look through the inventory we stock, then make a few choice selections.

Whiskey kills corona virus, right? I'm thinking a shot or two every hour ought to keep the pipes clean.

So, we find ourselves at End of Days, with the apocalypse just 2 weeks away....lets be prepared

I'll have to work remote for the next two weeks minimum so, figured its time to stock up for the battle..of the sanity of staying home!!!!!

Sadly, TW was wiped out of my blood line, Class Azul (R) so I had to settle for DJ 1942 to hold me over this week... when not drinking jack and vino double fisted that is!!!!

luckily a really great wine supply is on the way next week

...don't hoard....stay sane, drink more
