There’s an extended Shadowline Trim option. Do we know what that includes? If it’s the grille and exhaust surrounds, count me in.

I think for M50 it will make the biggest difference.

Mirror caps
Grill
Bumper inserts
exhaust tips
black rims?

I've included it on my build (not yet in production).

As far as I know from info I've seen it's window trim + front grill + exhaust surrounds but I'm not 100% sure, dealer could only tell me front grill would also be black in addition to window trim but it would be super weird if exhausts where still chrome then, wouldn't really make sense to me (no chrome except for exhaust surrounds).

On M4 Competition the extended shadowline also blacks out the logo's on the trunk. Normally I don't want any logo's on trunk but according to dealer on 45e this option is not available. I assume it's for fire department or something to be able to identify hybrid car ... if they are black I could probably live with it.

It's funny, BMW removes standard shadowline trim on the M variant models and replaces with cerium gray. Then, they charge you $350 to delete the M exclusive cerium gray in order to revert back to the original shadowline. I'll bet some bean counter is laughing his ass off over that one.

(I realize you get the kidneys, exhaust tips, etc, but still....)

Where do you see anything about cerium grey? It looks like BMW is charging $350 for shadowline grille and exhaust surrounds. That’s less than people are paying to buy a grille on eBay and install it themselves. I doesn’t sound like a bad deal to me.

That's the trim you will get on the M50i - at least on parts of the vehicle which makes it look a bit strange IMO.

Cerium grey finish is standard on the M50i - and it consists of the grill, front air splitter trim, mirror caps, side vents, rear exhaust tips. The side window surrounds and roof rails are in shadowline.

It's a $350 option to change the above back to shadowline.

Whereas in the current 50i M Sport, the above trim is in shadowline.

The ordering guide lists Shadowline as standard on the M50i.

Cerium Gray are only a few parts - lower intake trim pieces, grille, mirror covers, fake vent behind front wheels and the exhaust "tips". Everything else remains shadowline like regular M-Sport.

I personally do not like shadwoline trim. I would prefer matte aluminum for the window surrounds and roof rails. I know I am in the minority.

Available on M50d, but does not look possible on an M50i, at least in the US.

Yes, around the windows.

However, other parts come in this goldish/grey tone - including the mirror-caps, kidney, exhaust-trim and the little openings behind the front side fenders.

In my opinion, this does not go too well with the shadowline window trim and if would go with the M50i, I would get the extended shadowline just to match everything to the window trim.

Here's a picture of the X7 M50i where you can see the shadowline around the windows but ONLY there. Even the wheels are partially in that color:

I'm with you on the window surrounds and roof rails. They could offer cerium grey window surrounds like on the current X6.

My partner was lucky to get matte silver surrounds and roof rails on his F31 M Sport Wagon - it's usually shadowline but he got a Dingolfing special.

That gold trim looks horrible. Why gold on a M-Sport trim level when the signature trim is always black???? That would be a dealbreaker for me. Brushed silver maybe but gold is tacky as hell. Looks like a Chrysler mini van.

It's not really gold and identical in color to the current X3 M40i trim - it's matte and similar in color as raw titanium and changes color based on lighting. Here it is on my M550i.

It's not as bad as on the picture.

My biggest issue is that they are mixing this with the shadowline window-trim. If the M50's are supposed to have that trim, so be it but it should be the trim on the entire vehicle - including the window trims.

The way they did it is just too much of a mix for my liking.

Yeah they really have a hard time with showing realistic colors in their rendering photography.

Here's that thread where someone replaced trim on their 40i with M50d.

I wish the Skylounge was a feature that could be retrofitted in the 2019 X5's I really love that feature from the first time that I saw it in the RR and then the X7.

$350 for the extended shadowline trim is a steal if it includes the front grille!!

Anyone have pics the full merino leather?

I spec'd my M50i at $98245, but still need to drive it if it's going to replace my X5M
