Why is it so damn fast lol. M5 has major AWD competition. Can't wait for the eventual X-Drive M5 to face off against this

Apparently the new CLS63 AMG which is heavier, larger and more than likely more comfortable than the panamera traps close to 5 miles per hour higher in the 1/4 than the panamera. Car and driver claims a 12.0@122 MPH, that is a big difference if it ever came down purely to top end performance.

Line up the Panamera turbo S, CLS63 and M5 on the same day, the turbo S will win.
I wanna believe this too which is why I don't trust these magazine reviews/tests. Car and Driver and Motortrend are both well know for over inflating their numbers. The proper way to do this would be for one magazine to get all these cars together when they are finally released and do a proper comparison. BMW M5, CLS63AMG, Panamera Turbo S and maybe that Jag XF-R all in a drag race, slalom test, skidpad test and then everyday livability.

I personally believe that if they were independently reviewed, the Panamera would win performance wise but at the same time it would lose comfort, practicality and everyday livability wise. I also think the Panamera is ugly as sin but that is highly subjective, all around I'd take the M5 any day, it's simple but very functional and classy.

Remember one thing as well - the Panamera is AWD, the rest aren't, so while you may be giving up launching ability and slight handling, you are gaining a fun factor, possibly better top end and I am sure excitement.

I like the Panamera and the cls63 looks good too. The m5 i think looks terrible. Too bland and boring.
No surprise there, it should be, it's the Porsche after all. I too think the CLS63 looks fantastic, my friend has the previous gen CLS550 (great car, feels like a boat though) but I am not a Merc guy so I could never see myself in one of those either. The M5 is awesome as most wouldn't see anything special about it from the outside because it certainly seems the most undercover and hides its performance best. Nevertheless, the Porsche seem like the ultimate performance family car but those looks turn me off every time.

If you like to drive and want the best all around car, the Porsche is def the ultimate family sedan.
I dont like BMW turbo motors (i owned 2 of them) but the M5 will be good for those who cant afford the Porsche and the CLS seems like it will sit right in between them.
