Well, my dealer gave me 7/2020.35 today because of an ACC error.
Now I can sent a destination using Google Maps from my pc to my 'car' and it shows up with no problem and the destinations are easy to find.
Also, when running CP Apple Map's nav shows up in the HUD as others have reported.

How? I have no option on my PC to send a destination to my BMW from maps.google.com. I can send it to my phone but not to my car.

Care to elaborate with instructions on how you did this?

Thank you for posting the link. I kind of figured there was probably something that I hadn't setup yet. Unfortunately it doesn't let you send directions. Only a "place".

You gotta love Google! Lets just call everything a "Phone". How intuitive of them to give users one option labeled "Send to your phone" where your "Car" is listed.

It doesn't work for me when I choose send to car. It sends the message correctly to the car but I cant do anything with it.

If I use send to phone, and pick the CP connected phone (I have a dedicated permanent one), then it appears in the idrive messages and can be used as an idrive nav destination, as Xeno very helpfully pointed out.

Update Aug 27. It was 07/2020. Maybe they misspoke and meant 4.24.13

Is the 7/2020 software update eventually supposed to be pushed out over the air? I'd rather not have to go to the dealer to apply the update if possible.

Probably, in some markets, some time in the next couple of years, maybe.

A few in the US have been told it will be OTA in the October/November timeframe. That probably means January/February but maybe we will be surprised.

You got 07/2020.xx Over The Air? You would be the first person in the US to get this update OTA. Are you sure it's not 07/2019.xx, 11/2019.xx, or 03/2020.xx.

I was updated to 07/2020.30 by my dealer last month. Since then I don't believe the Parking Assistant is working. I have all the options selected to automatically notify me when I pass an available parking space but I never get the display notification or the tone telling me there's an available parking spot.

For those of you that have the Parking Assistant option and are on iStep version 07/2020.xx would you mind checking to see if your Parking Assistant is working as designed?

Yeah mine is working as normal, UK model.

Hello, I was recently updated to 07/2020.45 and I don't have Android Auto and the connected drive store says my vehicle isn't eligible for the drive recorder. I did a search and saw that a member had a similar situation and conducted a "hard reset" and that solved his problem. I'm not sure how to perform a hard reset unless it's going into the general settings-> reset vehicle data which I already did and it didn't change anything. I also rebooted the Idrive by holding down the volume button for 30 seconds and that also didn't work. I also tried updating apps and services and that didn't work either.

I would really appreciate it if someone could assist me with a way to get those two features working.

I was more than distracted about not being able to use Google Maps now as that has been the most convenient way for me to put in all the hotels when driving 3+K miles across many states. My typing is not so good on the iP BMW app and one must know the precise address to when using voice commands. When I said "Springfield Residence Inn" last week, it took quite a while to get the nav to go to Springfield, MO RI.

Maybe I need to rethink CP as I think someone reported that Google Maps now shows up in the HUD when using CP. Is that possible only when using iOS 13.xxx + 7/2020? If I must use CP, I wish Waze was in the HUD since Google Maps has few alerts about police radar and of course neither has automated detector alerts like EL.

Voice Control is pretty good and can pick up on a lot more than I think we expect it to.

For instance, I would say it would probably have picked up where you wanted if you said "Take me to the Springfield Residence Inn in Springfield, Missouri". You can tell it a full address, but it is able to pick up on search keywords very well and it is how I tend to enter addresses now if I'm in the car at speed. It isn't perfect, but it is better than I have experienced in the past by a large margin.

Does the sport display show in the HUD when selected in sport mode. Until 07/2020.35 you have to select always to see it in the HUD and not doesn't show when you switch to sport and Sport display mode is selected. Is this resolved with .45?

Anything else resolved with 07/2020.45?
