Sign the Tesla Petition

Let's help out a small manufacturer with a fantastic product. I'd hate to see another Tucker happen.

I have seen more and more Tesla S around, but without seeing a dealership, where do they come from?

They have demo centers where they usually have 1-2 cars you can come check out. From there you can schedule a test drive. Then you just order direct without actually seeing YOUR car in person before you buy.

I can't stand Tesla but this is something I wish would spread all over the auto industry. Sick of having to deal with stupid dealers and their added costs and profits. We should be able to buy any car direct from the manufacturer...

Most are in shopping malls so you order it there and they'll drop it off at your house or office. It never needs an oil change or any other major maintenance so you just change the tires and keep on driving.

No thanks. If your state isn't allowing it, why not talk to your state (the alleged source of the "problem")? Maybe there's some other reason than what's assumed here in the petition.

My state is run by less than brilliant folks, I'd just as soon trust Elon Musk.

saw a Black S model on the road for the first time. Made me think Maserati at first which is a good thing. Very good looking car.

Yeah, he's definitely smarter than the folks running my state also. He's so smart he should be able to overcome this barrier if his product is really something people want and are willing to pay for. Apparently other car makers manage.

Meh. If I could buy a BMW directly from BMW AG, I'd imagine it would be cheaper, have the options I actually want, could be serviced anywhere and would have software updates from the mothership. I can't see how that's worse than having to deal with a local dealership and daft BMWNA.

But I've got a house full of Apple stuff, so a standardized model appeals to me more than many folks that hate that sort of thing.

yeah me too, so don't get me wrong, I like choices. I do doubt that this issue will be the downfall of Tesla. If they go down, it will be for other reasons.

Have to question the motives of whoever started the petition (not the OP, I assume he/she simply wishes Tesla well). Laws are created in the legislative branch. It would be more effective to go to your state, or, if you really believe that all states should conform to your wishes, contact your representative. Only thing this petition accomplishes is it signs people up for a mailing list.
