I have a week 4 build for a 45e. I'm out by Sacramento and I'm expecting (hoping for) a two week transit time. But, I think it's just the luck of the draw as to how long it actually takes. Fingers crossed.

Thanks - you’re right. I’m still in the production queue stage. Got the VIN on the 5th. So I’m thinking assembly sometime next week, as originally scheduled.

Then there’s the trucking time from CA.

Back in November, my car took 2.5 weeks from the time it left the factory by train and arrived (with a 1 day delay at the K.C. railyard, typical bottleneck area) at the VPC in San Bernardino.
Since you are in the Northwest, probably add another 5-7 days.

From what I heard you should see a status change to 150 Production Begins about 10 days before the build actually starts. In the production begins phase is when all the parts are ordered and staged for the build phase.

It’s nearing post time!

I have a week 5 build as well and I've put in the timeline below:

12/26/20: Order placed with dealer
12/26/20: Order received
01/08/21: Scheduled for production
01/13/21: Production begins (VIN assigned)
01/13/21: Expected production date moved up from Feb 6 to Jan 28

You can try reaching out to your dealer or the BMW Genius line and see if there's any update that you might not be seeing.

Also, the options for your build might also impact the pace. Included my build below for further clarity:

X40i (xLine)
Jet Black
Cognac Vernasca Leather
Anthracite Brown-Poplar Matte Finish Wood Trim
20" V-spoke 738 AS RFT
Driving Assistance Professional Package
Executive Package
Luxury Seating Package
Parking Assistance Package
2-axle air suspension
Space-saver spare

Usually 10-15 days but it depends heavily on your options. Production takes 1-3 days typically

Congrats, but sucks to be me. I’m still stuck on “scheduled for production with no confirmed production date”. Geniuses are saying that I’m week 6, and they have been saying that since mid December, but I was hoping it would get produced early. Clearly that is NOT going to happen now.

You never know, you might get moved into week 5 still. I'd say if you don't see it update by Friday or Saturday then you're probably not moving up.

I was week 5 but was moved into 4 and it seems like a lot of other folks did too. Hopefully yours does as well!

Anyone aware of shipping times to TX? Estimating about a week or so but would like to get some empirical data

I'm finally "dispatched from factory". Order placed 11/16 and it was supposed to be week 51. Not sure what happened but there was some delay and it didn't get produced until last Friday (1/15). Now just have to wait for the travel to Los Angeles. I thought that the battery recall might have caused some delay or some other supply shortage specific to my order but who knows.

Plus holiday shutdown? Could be backed up and starting to catch up as well. Curious on the transit time, so post an update.

Looks like i got a VIN and entered production starts status as well. Feb4th completion date.

Dealer in NC told me they will have the car in 7-10 days after completed production.

I ordered a X5 45e on 12/28. Ordered submitted to BMW on 12/29. Scheduled for production on 1/4. Production "begins" on 1/15. Dealer told me during the first week of January that they expected production to be completed by 1/22. The Genius hotline told me a build week of 1/25. It is still in the production queue so 1/22 is definitely out. Now I'm just hoping for the build on or about 1/25. I don't think I ordered anything that would cause a delay, so I'm hopeful. The delays that others have experienced makes me doubtful. Sigh. I guess it'll get here when it gets here. I check for updates first thing every morning and tell myself that I won't check it again until the next morning. But that usually only lasts a couple of hours, the. I'm on there checking again. I guess I'm excited.

My car finished production on 1/16. The dealer sent me a screen shot of their system today that shows a projected 1/25 arrival at Kansas City Interchange and then 2/2 arrival at San Bernardino Rail Hub. I assume then it's 2-3 days to get unloaded and to the dealership.

Since it looks like you are practically a neighbor (90 miles ) to the assembly plant, it shouldn't take that long to get to your dealer.
