Trip odometer logic
Anyone know the logic behind trip odometer settings? Why can you only reset the individual function and the trip settings are automatically reset every 4 hours? What if I begin a trip after 2 hours and want that monitored separately?

Just the way they designed it. One bucket never gets reset (Factory), one that gets reset when you refuel, one that gets reset after not driving for four hours and one that you can reset at any time. The 50e has an additional one for charging.

45e’s Edrive mile under “since factory” can be reset by dealer for some reason. Mine was reset during instrument panel replacement. Not sure intension or or accidental. The idea that this can be reset quite bother me.

On LCI I spoke the command to reset trip data into iD 8.5 and it asked if I wanted to reset data for all trips. I said no because I wasn’t sure which of the four buckets it would erase. I wouldn’t want all reset (especially the factory reading). If just resetting individual then it’s a moot point however.
