If the X5m is your primary car and gets a lot of use, a second set of rims with winters is a great idea.
It’s a big high HP rig that goes through tires fast. And if you’re lowered with some cool camber stance; forget about it. On our 2021 stock x5m, we got 9k out of the rear Pirellis and 12k in the fronts. So having a set of backup rims could be real handy. Save the summer Pirellis or Michelin PS4S for the dry seasons and enjoy the security of Scorpions during winter. Or even run a boring square setup, but since it’s for winter, it’s ok. We ran stock staggered Pirelli scorpion winters for a while and those tires hook!

Quick question: Is there any way I can buy a tire/wheel coverage insurance w/o going thru a dealer? If so, with whom?

Discount tire I think sells tire protection even if you didn’t buy the tires from them. It was around 50 a tire when I looked 5y ago. Check it out.
