Just negotiated an amazing deal on a 2020 X5!

Here is my deal! Signed this evening. New build on a 2020 X5 xDrive40i. Lease 36/7,500. Sign & Drive. I will also receive $1,000 rebate on top of this deal as a CCA member after the car arrives!

To be honest, I spent time going to this dealership over the past few months. I serviced a previous X5 we had at this dealership knowing that the lease was up soon and I’d eventually have to get a new car for my wife (even though I never purchased or leased ever from this dealership before). I made it a point to say hello to the salesmen, management and staff and shake hands. I test drove numerous cars over the months with the BMW Genius staff (M5, M5 Comp, 750i, M8, etc), and every time I walked through the door the management and salesmen would recognize me by my name, come greet me and shake my hand. This definitely helped build a relationship over time and allow me an advantage as I wasn’t just a random guy walking through the door looking for some insane deal. Although it was my first deal I have made at this dealership!

My SA and his Manager were so wonderful to deal with, an absolute pleasure in customer service and satisfaction. I will never buy another brand again. They will get my business for life!

I just reread my first ever thread when I initially joined in April and compared the deal I had (which I did not do, thanks to a few members PM’s!). Wow what a difference when comparing the two deals. I was naive and untrained. I read and read, stayed patient andd learned a great deal about leasing to come to this deal I finally signed tonight! Thank you and all those who helped me along the journey!

I will update in this thread with Track My BMW as soon as I receive it from my SA.

Oh and now I need a car! This was for the DW. 2020 M5 come to Daddy!

Which area in US? 16% on a 2020 is a huge deal. Can you please PM dealers info?

I’m in the Southeast. I negotiated hard and stuck to my numbers. My Wharton MBA came in handy! Ha. Sorry, but I don’t want to get my dealer unwanted attention!

16% off is well below cost and a new build as well...wow that's incredible.
What leverage did you have in the deal other than not buying it, that took them well below cost? Other than the MBA of course....I want to learn how to execute the same when it's my turn.

Thank you. I walked in asking initially for an absurd 20% off (knowing there was no way in hell and assuming they’d come back at a lowball 5-10% off. They came back higher than expected and said we can do 13% (At the time I was fine with that deal, but I said to myself I already have them at 13% off, why not shoot for higher; worst they can say is no and we do the deal at 13%. I waited a few hours at the dealer, it was getting late and they said they couldn’t do better right now but let’s continue tomorrow. I walked away knowing 13% was still on the table no matter what. So either way I was happy. But, me being in finance I decided push my luck. I called them this morning and said let’s get a deal done your at 13 I’m at 20, I’ll meet you in the middle and they said we will do 16%. I said, deal! I flew down to the dealer and signed! The rest is history.

With all due respect , I have to wave the smell test on this .
I really can't believe you got 16% off a brand new 2020 X5.
Please prove me wrong by posting your worksheet and leave out any of your personal info.
Again, I just can't believe you got 16% off a 2020 X5 .

the breakdown you posted in this thread shows a discount around 10%, was that a previous negotiation?

Congrats
Didn't know it's possible to get 16% on car that's not on a lot.
Keep us updated.

I will gladly send you the information privately when I receive it. Since it’s a sign and drive all I signed was a deposit form for the build with $0 deposit. Then I’d appreciate if you’d please come back here and post publicly that you are a believer (Since you “can’t believe”).

Yes it was a previous negotiation. If you read my post in this thread you would have seen this:

Yes, I made a mistake and when another forum member pointed it out i was happy to admit that. That's why I didn't initially accuse you of anything and asked if that was a previous negotiation. congratulations on your deal but you can surely understand some of our skepticism about it given you said you got 16% off, $0 deposit on a custom order and hinted at other incentives all combined in one deal when you admittedly had no relationship with the dealers sales department.

You basically started a thread bragging about one of the greatest deal of all deals we've seen on this forum and then refusing to divulge the details of the deal publicly. No one is out here trying to harangue your dealer into demanding a similar deal, but having evidence makes the forum better to know what really can be possible when negotiating.

Or then again maybe its not possible for the rest of us to think we can something like that since we didn't go to Wharton

Will gladly send you the documentation when I receive it. Absolutely not trying to brag, just pointing out that it is very possible to get amazing deals if you work hard and stay persistent and shop around. Not to mention I work in finance (mergers & acquisitions) for an investment bank so negotiating is my forte.

I'm absolutely not trying to brag guys but I got 17% off. I am keeping the dealer a secret. Wouldn't want any of you to know where to get a good deal. Actually I'm feeling a bit generous, if you search "BMW dealer USA". They are in one of the top 700 pages. Good luck.

I got 30% off and a free M2 competition and I went to a community college.... I guess the lesson here is without proof these exceptional deals are hard to believe.

If you don't have paperwork to back up your deal, then you have a major negotiation weakness. No proof. Always get it in writing. You leave the meeting with the paperwork. Otherwise you just have a deal in principle and well that is subject to fall apart.

Nothing to believe , because I don’t believe anything you’re saying.
There is no way you got 16% off a custom order on a brand new X5. No way. Period . You would be laughed out of the dealership.
You would have some documentation of your deal NOW if it were legit since you’ve signed an agreement to get the X5. .
It’s called a worksheet.

Totally understandable all the non believers. I went back to the dealership today and this is what they gave me. I asked for all the financial paperwork and they said there is none but this paper since the build has yet to be started. They said the build will go into effect on Tuesday/Wednesday in my name and they will give me that information afterwards. Is there anything else everyone would like me to obtain and share?
