OBD port locking device

Has anyone purchased something like this? Theft is on the rise and I’d like to protect my car as much as possible.

I can’t seem to find anything decent online. They’re either $500 or $30.

By default, BMW already lock the OBD2 port.
It will trigger alarm when someone trying to access the OBD2 port while armed.

I bought a port to code using BIMMERCODE and it didn’t have any alarm go off. I’m assuming what you’re referring to will happen if the car is locked/key is not in close proximity/some iteration of my car being locked and the alarm armed?

I’ve left an obd2 port reader in the car with a phone app, lock the car and walk away and then the car alarm sounds. Have to go back and unplug it.

Interesting. So the alarm will go off if the key is not in range then.

Btw, I appreciate your help with the other thread re: carbonio mounts. I got mine and it’s great.
