I'm looking to see what others are doing to help stop the rocks and road debris hitting the side of the SUV. I hear it all the time and it makes me cringe on the daily. Please post below with what you've installed and what's worked for you with links to the product. I know I'm not the only one that would like a bit of info on this subject and have it all located in one area.

let us know how it goes!

I tried the first thread, but couldn't find the right tool to cut the carbon out properly.

I'm, also interested in doing this.

I used .5mm matte carbon sheets and I was able to cut it to shape with regular household scissors.

This was the brand i ordered but they don't seem the have .5mm anymore.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e?ie=UTF8&th=1

After having these installed on my car for the past 3 years with 32K miles my doors and rear fender flare doesn't have any rock chips on it. My old F85 X5M without any mud flaps the doors and rear flare was peppered with chips just just 17K miles on the clock when i traded it in.

Ah. that makes sense Alan. I was trying to cut the 1.0 with a scissors and couldn't do it.

I then proceeded to buy a rotary saw to try but it wasn't working so I gave up LOL

Okay, so I made my own rock guards and I took a few pictures to show what I did and what I think looks best out of the others I've seen (just my opinion). I didn't like the guard to poke past the fender and I wanted it to flow to create a cleaner look while serving its purpose. You can see how the little rocks have damaged the paint after 2.5 months in one of the pictures.

The vehicle is filthy from the weather we've been getting here in FL, but it's supposed to be nice out tomorrow and I'll give it a wash. I'll take some pictures of the guards to show how well they blend.

All cleaned up and you can see how these flow with the fender and aren't as noticeable.

Understood however clicking on link brings up the 200x300mm and there are several other choices. I presume that is the size used in your excellent post.

Hmm, it is the 200x300x1mm. My bad.

I'd recommend 1mm and use a Dremal. It cuts pretty easy with one and it's thick enough to withstand some good road debris impacts.

Well, all I can say is that I'm incredibly happy with these rock/splash guards! I'd usually have road junk all down the side of the vehicle since it's raining today, but there's nothing on it.

Looks great and appears to do the job!

Did it require two sheets of the listed material?

Yes, one sheet for the front and one sheet for the rear.

I hope you don't mind if I use your images to model this in CAD and 3d print my own. I already have the peppering behind the front tires. I just don't want it to get worse.
