iDrive 8.5??

With the LCI M4 announcement yesterday for MY2025 getting iDrive 8.5, when will BMW update the F95/F96 platform from iDrive 8.0 to 8.5 as all referenced platforms now have the MGU5 head unit. Maybe for MY25 which SOP is 3/24 is hopeful?

The LCI F95/6 has the 8.5 update. The pre-LCI should have an update available to upgrade yourself. If you can't, BMW will release it so users can load it themselves at a later time. Otherwise you'll have to go to the dealer and get the 8.5 loaded on your pre-LCI. One more way for them to make you pay for an hour to load it.

Then the LCI M4 has the half-way iDrive 8.5 without quick select.

I think all M models have it removed. I'd never use it to be honest, I select a route before I drive and I can control music with the wheel. There's also voice that can be used for that stuff. It's just more junk for people to play with when they should be driving with the quick select.

Quick select is a compromise for losing the 8 haptic touch keys as the M’s with iDrive 7 had no issue and were the same as ghe series production cars.
