Is remote coding still a thing?

In the past, I have paid people to code remotely using TeamViewer on my laptop and a cable into the car.

I have an adapter for BimmerCode, but was wondering if there are more features available to someone with a more advanced system and knowledge of how to do it.

Also, how regularly are people able to access new “codable” features?

Anti-dazzle high beam is one of those features which cannot be coded by Bimmercode. Yes, there are still people doing remote coding and can enable anti-dazzle high beam for you.

Can you elaborate on the anti dazzle high beam? There's just absolutely no clear information to be found on how the laser headlights work.

Search YouTube...BMW has posted various videos, and some have been linked in threads here, and others have taken their own videos and posted them.

The current US implementation is considerably crippled, but DOT regulations are (still?) pending to allow some changes to approach those of the rest of the world after many years of trying. The US implementation is basically to enable a fixed laser assisted high beam once it detects you're going over 50km/ph or so. The rest of the world gets their lasers to vary the beam almost continuously and can 'blank or box' out around vehicles you approach from the rear, and taper the road side beam as a vehicle approaches while keeping a long range beam on your side of the road. The US implementation also limits the maximum throw of the beam.

Check this out (Anti-dazzle high beams and laser headlights are two different things though):

Thank you, so this basically confirms that anti dazzle is available with both adaptive LED and Lasers. I have adaptive LEDs on my M2 and Lasers on my X6M, but in the US the anti dazzle is illegal.

I wonder if it can be "coded", and if its even worth it. Seems like it can only really be effective on some rural roads.

There are dozens of threads on here on how to code it.

It is useful in any scenario where the high-beams are used. It will even work on highways, cutting out at the last second just as you are about to pass another vehicle either travelling in your direction, or coming towards you.

Cant it be coded using BimmerCode in expert mode?

Most of the world gets the full use of the feature, but in the US, our government have some old antiquated laws still on the books that restricts its allowance. They still prefer we drive with candles in front of a reflector at night.
It supposed to be changed soon, but it will still be a neutered allowance compared to ROW.

You cannot enable this with Bimmercode. To enable it, the coder must entirely remove a software module, and then make some tweaks to the remaining ones. Bimmercode can only make modifications to code, not delete an entire module (at least for now...the provider said he did not expect to be able to do this, ever, for the US).

That's a completely different platform and a completely different coding set on completely different ECUs. Let's not confuse the G05/G06/G07 forum.

Do you have a list of things you can code remotely?
