Does anyone know the difference between these 2 OEM rear windshield?

Shattered the rear windshield when reversing into a dark underground parking spot. Unable to see there is giant metal tube sticking out from the wall.

The question is why is these two options so different in pricing? The only difference in description is the word "ssg" which I googled stand for structural sealant glazing. Tried to look into this but not much can be found

Apparently 51-31-7-442-621 is "without privacy glass", whatever that is. Maybe untinted or doesn't have that black coating around the sides?

Anyone know for sure what "SSG" is? My guess is sound suppression glass. THe more expensive version says "SSG".

Privacy glass is the darkened window.

Might be a regional thing ? At least in the US, they all come -dyed-. Not tinted....but dyed fairly dark at .

If this is out of pocket, I'd choose the cheaper non dyed and put the $ saved into some heat reducing tint

Both are listed as 'GREEN', so in that regard, they seem identical along with the antenna, I assume for the radio.

The difference is the one that ends in 622 has the sun protection glazing (option code S420A. This is the option where the rear windows (or all the windows behind the B pillar) are darker than the windshield and front door windows.

You can see it mentioned in the supplemental info if you use the realoem.com website. This would also give the reason why it costs more than the glass that ends in 621

Here's an example of a G05 X5 with the option S420A glass on the rear glass past the B pillar. If you needed to replace any glass in the rear passenger doors, tailgate, or cargo area and the glass is darker than the front doors (driver & passenger)...then you would replace the glass that indicated SSG or option code S420A
