i think one way to test for whether or not a connection is required for automatic time changing could be to turn off all communication between the server and vehicle. I know what’s available under Data Privacy but dunno if that actually affects automatic time.
then someone could wait 6 months to test DST change (in the US) or drive between time zones |

Proposed fix works great!
Thanks for this! I did it this afternoon and worked like a charm. Would love to know how to send BMW this feedback.....hopefully they read these posts!

I noted my LCI (8.5) did not update time and I couldn’t figure out how to get it to move up an hour and in frustration, toggled auto from on to off to on and that did it.
I’ve had vehicles in the past that not only was this automatic (as I assume it was planned to be in the BMW) but would indeed toggle back and forth as I drove through US time zones. |

My '22 X5 has always adjusted automatically, including this spring. But two days ago we were driving around town and the wife said "your clock is off by an hour." It had been correct earlier in the day. After unloading the groceries I went back to check it out and the clock was back to normal, and still is.
Sometimes I think the car just likes to f*** with me. |
