I was offered this maintenance program, I asked the salesman if this extends the warranty, was told yes, and I foolishly believed him without verifying and purchased it (I am sure it was not a misunderstanding, I was very clear when I asked and I got a very clear answer). Now I'm reading that it's just covering some basic maintenance for an extra year for $2,749... I doubt maintenance for one year even costs this much... I guess shame on me for believing a salesman, but since I haven't used it yet, can I get it refunded? Or maybe applied to an actual extended warranty which I wanted?

Depends… maintenance is only able to be cancelled in 7 states. You are in CA…. So I would assume it is able to be cancelled since that state is over the top for consumers. Just check your contract and it will highlight the states that allow cancellation.

As mentioned above, check the T&C to see whether it can be cancelled in your state. As of a few years ago it could only be canceled in AL/AK/CA/IL/ME/MD/MN/NH/NJ/SC/VT/WI and Puerto Rico.
