It is only for F95 X5M and F96 X6M.
Doesn't apply to G05 X5 and G06 X6.
I don't have the link, but it is internal. Not an open campaign as I was told.

I understand. My friend has an F95 and I was going to forward the TSB/SIB to him as this issue is what was holding him back from purchasing a set of MSS. He doesn't have the noise but doesn't want it either.

These are the information that I have received from QF8 . I believe he mentioned that the remedy is from BMW HQ and they are issuing service bulletin.
I believe a few US customers managed to get their local dealership to find the bulletin.

My 2020 X6M had the knocking noise from brand new. It has absolutely nothing to do with springs. A good dealer will recognize and fix the issue if it does appear.

Understood however dealers love to shift blame on everything but the root cause to avoid warranty work especially if there is an aftermarket component involved. Which is why having the SIB/TSB or having the issue resolved ahead of time is best. Generally speaking of course.

It may be the knocking issue does not exist anymore as the factory would have rectified this for all vehicles produced after a certain date. The knocking issue was first reported over a year ago.

For those that are using the KW HAS kit will the shims be required as well or this is only on the MSS kit?

You'll need it too.
It is BMW issue, not the aftermarket spring.
As I mentioned above. It also making noise while stock.

How come the kit for the M50i does not include the neoprene sleeves but it does for the X5M?

That's beats me.
Neoprene sleeves are not always included AFAIK.
Some have it, some don't. Even on the same application.
I guess, depending whether they have it or not during packing.

LOL, bizarre. If it is in the directions one would think it would be included in ALL the kits not just whichever they didn't forget to put it in.

I believe they wrote it as optional.
I remember asking them a year ago with X3M kit.
First batch was included, second batch wasn't included and they said that it is optional.

Not sure if this is relevant but I had my mss kit installed in the winter, nothing has changed with the height. Now all of a sudden the front is making a tensioned spring sound only at low speeds and turning.

Any thought? I thought if raising the truck a little but wanted to get some feedback before hand.

Noise from front or rear?
If it front, get it lifted and inspect if anything causing the binding. The top mount on front strut spins. So, spring should turn together with the shock.

It's the front.

I wish the shops around here had the know-how.

I appreciate the reply. I'll do it in the morning and see if it's moves.

I put on my lift and found the boot jammed down. No noise now, hope that was it.

I can't see this as a significant source of noise, but good thing you reconnected it to the bumpstop to keep the shaft clean.

I think there are two sources of creaking in this setup. First the lower perch you have steel on aluminum interface that is exposed to grit, ideally there would be a Teflon shim. Second, you have the helper springs which is a binding design, where the coils are in contact with each other as it compresses.

A little lithium grease spray in each location resolves most of the noise for me. I'm sure r33_RGSport Ben has better insight.

I could have sworn I have replied to a similar complaint and thought it was here, but looks like it wasn't. You are right. The front springs do bind after a while. I installed mine with white lithium grease and that lasted about 1 year and then the noise started. I haven't had the time to put it on the lift, but I am 100% sure it is spring binding and all the symptoms described above mirror spring binding.

It seems to me it was just caused by dirts or grits got caught in between the spring.
Because once you lift it up, they must've falls off and clears the noise.
