Communications Module Stolen X5
My car was stolen back in November and they cut my Communications Module by pulling down the rear of the headliner and yanking the electronics from below the fin that on top of the car. I have been waiting 5 months for a new headliner to arrive. My current one is actually fine. Do I actually need the headliner replaced, or can they just replace the electronics? This is a 2020 X5 M50i in case someone has been down this road before. I can't get any answers from BMW and bugging the Garage that is doing the work has been futile.
Let me know if anyone has fixed this or has seen a post about a similar issue. Thanks guys! |

The headliner is not tied to the TCU, you can replace it without replacing the headliner.

When my X3 was stolen the pulled down the headliner and ripped the TCU module out to stop BMW finding the car. The headliner was replaced but mine was damaged as the frame was twisted around the sunroof.
