For what it's worth, I love tanzanite on my X3.

Shit. I'm not sure how you top SMB. It pops no matter what time of day or whether or not its sunny or cloudy.

The only other one that stands out for me is Verde Ermes. I think metallic paint looks better on the X5MC.

I agree. The body is too large to do a unipant like my imola red f80. The hard lines look good when you have a nice metallic flop.

SMB just looks so good, I think I'm just being a spoiled first worlder and being too picky. I have Black Sapphire Metallic and I'm at the stage where I think I'm experimenting with colors. Why can't I find a picture of any X series SUV in pyrite brown?

Closest I see is this https://www.salebmw.com/new/BMW/2023...06b2bc1539.htm

But mdecoder says it's "sparkling brown metallic"

I have Grigio Telesto on my X7. It's a nice color, but I don't think it is particularly remarkable. I think Brooklyn Grey actually has more character, even though it is a bit lighter in tone.

Confused a bit. If you don't like Marina Bay because of purple, then how do you like SMB, which is like 30% more purple.

I'd look at Ruby Red or Lime Rock Grey outside of the blues if you are set on a metallic color. I think both of those would look good on an X5M.

Something more unique would be Urban Green or if they would paint Ferrari's Grigio Medio. Not a fan of Urban Green but it could go with a big SUV, looks almost militaristic.

I have seen the M5 in it and it looks pretty good....

That being said, I googled and saw a normal X5 in signal green and it just doesn't look good. I think java green is 1000000x better.
Yea I agree with Java Green too. Signal green to me is like very neon color and Java has more depth to it and looks different in different lighting.
But of course all these colors pop like crazy and will certainly demand attention!!

I would go with either Avus or SMB. Avus is more class, not many purple hues compared to SMB. SMB is more flash, with quite a lot of purple hues, and that always eye catching wet gloss magic it has going on. Admittedly an Avus on Modena e36 M3/4 is what got me addicted to cars, but damn do I love SMB, too. Actually, I love just about every BMW blue. 😂🤣🤗🤣😂 I also really love understated/darker greens for a more subtle class.

I agree, I wish companies would use consistent naming for their colors as not to confuse people.

To me SMB looks more "blue" and somehow has less purple in the flop to me than MBB. When I see the MBB in light all I see is that purple when you look at the flanks of the car and get some light at different angles. When I see the same car in SMB, it looks more blue to me.

Can you explain Lime rock gray to me? Is it like Dravit but with silver flake?

Can you show me some pics? I want to see how it looks on the similar body lines.

I have a Gunmetal Grey II on order. I chose it over all of those listed, although Brands Hatch Grey was not an option for me.

Should have it delivered by early November. I'll post pics then.

The Audi is Quantum Grey, which is similar to Nardo, but with more brown and less blue in the paint.

Brands Hatch Grey looks amazing in person. It's a very traditional BMW Grey which is much closer to silver than the color palette shows.
