X6 M Sport 40i Trunk door one one side is off

Hi Folks,

I bought my X6 last month from a dealer out of state , it was driven about 150 miles to me and dropped off a couple of weeks later after the registration was taken care of in my state. I have not driven the car since that day 2 weeks ago ...I cleaned the car today and noticed that the trunk door on the left side " does not seat" and is a little off , you see it only if you are standing on the side...there is no obvious dings etc on the door ...are there any known issues with the latch or hydraulics on the trunk ? Here are pictures from the left and right side.
Thx.

I have not, but I will try. Since I didn't buy from the local dealer, I have no idea how helpful they are going to be. Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it.

Yes, the left side on yours doesn't look right. I just checked my G06. Hope your issue will get addressed.

Another poster had an issue with his front door not properly shutting. The car was brand new.

Again, just speaks volumes about BMW’s production quality and their post-assembly-line inspection process. You don’t need a lot of imagination to wonder what might be lurking underneath if there are obvious flaws like this making it all the way to delivery.

Usually there’s a quality-check person who will measure all body panels using a gap tool and obviously that person failed in doing his or her job. Notwithstanding the fact that these alignment issues shouldn’t be manifesting itself to begin with. Blind leading the blind at the Spartanburg plant. Whoever is running that plant isn’t doing a good job.

Hi Folks,
I just want to clarify that I did not buy the car unseen. I liked the car online, made a deal over the phone, drove 2hours 15 mins to upstate NY from Massachusetts. Spent 15 mins driving the car and a couple of mins looking inside and out, signed the paperwork and had the car delivered to me 2 weeks later. So I don't want to play the blame game with the dealership. When the car was delivered to me I walked around the car, peeked in and that was it. So I missed it. Here are a couple of pictures from the dealer on car gurus .when the car was listed and you can see the difference between left and right trunk door seating on the body. It's more pronounced when looking at it from the side. I don't know what my options are.. it's more pronounced close to where "X6" is..on the rear.
Thx.
J.

Pretty sure just turning the rubber stopper on the driver side would fix this. 5 second fix.

Shit happens, it's not the end of the world. For all we know, alignment could've gotten distorted after the car had left the factory so statements like yours are a bit over the top. But looking at other posts of yours you seem to hold a grudge with BMW because all you seem to do is talk sh!t. As several people already told you in another thread of yours; you should go ahead and buy another car.

I debated on whether or not to use the word “pathetic” again. I decided against it considering how sensitive people are with that word...

Seems like you're the sensitive one if all it takes to get you all up in your feelings is digital dash design

Yeah, this looks like a simple fix of adjusting the black rubber stops in the tailgate. I've had to adjust mine on previous BMWs before, no biggie. No need to schlep to the dealer either.

And to the negative nelly a few posts up, seriously relax. Go check out Tesla's QC if you think this is a big deal.

Agreed, I have to adjust mine seasonally. Split liftgate on G05 is worse / harder to keep aligned and quiet.

No, you got it all backwards. Go back reread. I really don’t care if people tell me to go buy a new car. However, it just doesn’t add to the discussion and it’s a defensive response.

The sensitive people are those that take my “pathetic” remark like I just insulted a family member and...respond defensively.

Go ahead, tell me to buy a new car if you makes you feel better. I’m pretty sure that won’t help the situation and it sure as heck won’t improve things. Let’s ignore people’s complaints and tell them to go buy other cars. Ignorance is bliss.
