There should be different versions of the S68 engine. The M will get the higher output > 600 HP one, and M60i gets the lower output, 535 HP one.

There will be no more base model, it will only be the X5/X6 M Competition model. As mentioned, the HP will stay about what it is now.

based on how significantly the 50e plug ins are being kicked up vs the previous gen I wonder if that is an indicator that the mild hybrid systems will deliver more a bunch more kick as well, closer to a "non-plug in"

As far as the 50e is concerned, the electric motors will likely be the same and they are just not detuning the ICE like they do in the current version.

Nice. I notice HK is currently back for the 45e (though the site doesn't reflect that).

LCI in 08/22. Will get the refreshed B57, B58 and the new S68 engines. X7 M50i becomes X7 M60i. The lineup remains the same as now. All models will get the 48V system. The new dashboard is making an appearance.

Same exact thing happened with FL2 of the macan. Macan gts received turbo engine albeit with a size-able price increase. These electrified M veriants will not be short on power.

Not turning it into anything, just stating the facts as to what an M Performance vehicle is. It is also a fairly new concept and there will be a number of them with S engines starting with this round of the LCI's.

As mentioned, the base X5 M model is going away and it will just be offered as the X5 M Competition.
