This is odd, because my understanding was that you drive it 125 miles or so, to see if it rears it's ugly head again in that time frame. My fluid changed greatly improved it, but was still shuddering the next day after pickup / maybe 10 miles of driving. My shop took it immediately back and withing a week, they installed a new one! I think your tech is misunderstanding, if it's still happening w/ the fluid change, it's NOT going away. I'd insist they take it back and replace.

Another data point here, first time posting my experience.

Car went in for service today;

2019 50i, 61,000 miles, extreme shuddering, confirmed transfer case, transfer case oil change -drive it 300 miles; bring back for new case if it’s still doing it.

Thank goodness I have CPO until May, need to look at extended warranties, this issue spooked me!
