Tire Storage
We have a set of winter wheels and tires. I've always left my old tires in bags when storing them but noticed the following in the X5 manual. I never heard of this before and was wondering why BMW says not to leave them in plastic bags.
Thanks Frank Storage ▷ Store wheels and tires in a cool, dry and dark place. ▷ Always protect tires against all contact with oil, grease, and solvents. ▷ Do not leave the tires in plastic bags. |

That's an interesting recommendation...for the past 17 yrs, on my 2006 Mustang..I have been swaping out what I consider show tire/wheels with stock wheels/tire every off-season...I stack the 4 wheels in a "wheel tree" and cover all of then with a plastic cover that covers all of them...results? No issues whatsoever.

That has been my experience too which is why I was curious about the statement. |
