Samsung Galaxy S22 and BMW Digital Key

I do not see digital key in the mybmw App. Tmobile S22+ located in USA.
I have wireless charging

Then you are doing something wrong. You need to update your BMW app, your Samsung wallet, your Samsung pass. Everything. Once you update everything restart the phone and try again

I think because I have a 2019. I don't get it.. I have the digital card and that works. I guess I am missing some other piece of hardware for the phone to work

No difference. Make absolute sure all of that is upgraded, like stu mentioned. If you have the card, you have all the hardware you need for your phone to work.

I don't believe there was any iteration of "BMW Digital Key" that didn't work with phones the way it works with the card, so if they have the card and it works, it should work with your phone as well.

The only difference is if Android, at all, is supported on, specifically, a 2019 model. There's no reason why one Android phone would work and not another, especially one from the same manufacturer.

S20 doesn't work, s21 works, not all s22's work, same manufacturer.

Has anyone with a working digital key on android been able to share it? Some of the documentation implies it's possible but others make me suspect it's apple only...

What do you mean by"share it"? I haven't tried to transfer it to another device...I don't like the security in that idea.

I tried everything but no go on the 2019. I think its an error with the BMW app where the programmers don't let it display for the 2019 models thinking it won't work.

Probably hasn't taken the Galaxy update that allowes this functionality to work. Just go to the galaxy store and look for upgrades. Samsung Pass is what you want to upgrade

All posts on this topic on this forum have said that samsung digital key doesn't work with 2019 models.

No, I don't think that is available as an option for Android yet. I set my Pixel 6 Pro up to be the main key and it says that sharing across google account is coming soon. Haven't be able to set up a Samsung because I swapped my Fold 3 for the 4 and it isn't supported by Digital Key yet so can't speak to if Samsung Pass will let you do it.

Yes. I'm curently using Samsung's leather case and it fits without issue. My other case is a UAG Plyo and also fits (barely).

Yes, it does, I use my S22 ultra with Samsung genuine leather case and it fits perfectly with 2cm gap as well.

Your're welcome. If you use one of the other UAG cases that has the uneven ends (with the points), then it probably won't fit. The tray was designed for a large phone without a large case.

Just give it sometime, some users reported it's working for them now. So let's wait for Mybmw app update to make it work.

Nah its a 2019 X5 I believe it lacks the hardware. I have the activate Digital Key, but heard the same menu applied for NFC key which I have.

I got 2022 with wireless charging and everything and still gives me the error "your phone is not compatible with digital key" all apps are up to date.
