Nice dice for me. I have a genius appointment to run through the newest features of the car today anyways so I'll bring it up.

Good luck, let us know what they say. Yesterday, when I took my car in for another issue (seat leather on driver's seat detached), My "genius" said it's still not supposed to be working due to AT&T and filed a trouble ticket with BMW.

I was finally able to try once I got back from CES. The process worked. I did notice that the phone number of the vehicle is completely different than it was before the fix.

Ok. I'll focus on activating through the phone connected to the car going forward.

Make sure the phone or even iPad is connected to the car via the WiFi. Bluetooth won’t work. Once the phone is on the cars internal WiFi, you can go to the att site and register there.

I can connect any device to it. Getting a page in the browser to go through the sign up process is what won't load. It was still a dead hot spot connection this morning.

That was my issue last week. If you call att they probably can help now. Before they couldn’t do anything. BMW released our access numbers for 2019 vehicles only a few days ago to att. That was what changed for me. My vehicle’s number changed anyway after registration.

The plot thickens with my hotspot. AT&T doesn't have a record of my hot spot number or the vehicle VIN so this has to go back to BMW to fix according to them. I have to talk to BMW Genius when they get back in on Monday.

BMW released info out to Att a few days ago. Follow the instructions from above by resetting apps and restart iDrive. You will appear and be able to register via in your vehicle to att. This should be a sticky Do this: Start from the Home Menu and select "Apps". - Select the vertical menu bar on the left edge of the screen. - Select the "Options" button located near the iDrive controller. - Select "Update Apps and Services" and wait for the data transfer to complete before pressing OK Once this update is completed, please press and hold the volume knob on your dashboard for approximately 30-40 seconds to restart the iDrive system. You may now shut down the vehicle and attempt to sign up for Wi-Fi services at myvehicle.att.com. Last edited by MystroX5; 01-12-2019 at 10:57 PM.. |

That number is wrong and if you register via in your car, it doesn’t require the cars phone number. You must register in your car through it’s wifi hotspot to ATT. It transfers your correct data directly from the car to Att. It’s the only way I believe 2019 models have successfully registered.

I was told my vehicle is incompatible after going through the OP's steps then putting the vehicle phone number in.
