Build was just delayed until the 3rd week of Jan due to my color choice (SC plant is closed weeks 51&52). Wanted to provide a heads up to anyone considering MBB.

Ah bummer that you have to wait. IMHO that color is absolutely fantastic in person - but I might be biased since I picked mine up a month ago. I've never gotten so much positive feedback on a color before.

Oh dang for ya.

Got me worried some as I'm a week 51 build and Genius is showing that for now or let me know. Hope they don't close perhaps ALL of week 51. I think she said their week 51 is Wed 12/13 to Thr 12/21. Maybe they close Friday from Christmas, then the following week...

Week 51 is the 18th to the 24th. The last production shift is the night shift on the 22nd.

I got skyscraper gray, so pretty popular color i think, with the Ivory White Merino interior.

Man, hope it builds before holidays and comes in even by year end - don't know what to expect but will wait either way. ;-)

I would think you will be ok, they literally told me the day after I ordered.

It sounds like you might have gotten an allocation that was already spec’d but not a customer order (or one the customer backed out on). They then updated the allocation to be your spec and that delayed it likely due to the options and colors involved overall.

I believe there was a default spec
In the system prior to building with the client advisor, but the allocation was still 2+ weeks out from BMW pulling the spec into the next status. There was some technical issue with the build as it would not refresh in the system and update to my spec. The client advisor had to send me the build spec sheet the following morning after the system updated. Although, it is entirely possible they just bumped me to a later allocation? It wouldn’t be the first time a dealer wasn’t honest with me 😂.

*Update*

Was just bumped back into 2023, now week 51.

So the timeline is as follows:
Week 49 2023 —> Week 3 2024 —> Week 51 2023

Was not given a reason as to why I was bumped back into 2023. CA is thinking the car will still arrive after the new year though.
