I ordered my M50i on 9/11, it was built on 9/26 and is expected at the dealer tomorrow.

On the plus side, there was a reduction in the buy rate to .00082 which just about offsets the residual drop. From what I understand, great time to be buying a '21 340i. Ugh.

10.5% pre-incentives on custom build sdrive40i. Incentives gave me another 2%. Base money factor. Fees are all cool. Chose between sept and oct programs...pretty much identical for me, so went with sept to save $2/mth.

Used a broker for the first time. A member of this site turned me on to him. Great experience thus far. Car will be shipped to me this coming Monday.

...broker fees and shipping fees ate up about 1.5 points of the total 12.5 points off Msrp. Still pretty solid for custom build. All of the dealers in Florida I spoke with told me to get lost when I asked for 10% pre, but after a week they all were 'ready to talk'.

This is not what my CA told me. He said I need to reapply if I want to take different programs other than the one previously locked. For example, if I locked in September and I will have to resubmit the finance application if I can lock October incentive.

That is definitely not the case with leases and likely not the case with the finance incentives. Your CA may be confused but we will probably hear from another CA shortly.

When you ordered through a broker, will the vehicle be delivered to your home directly or local dealership? I'm considering doing the same and want to start doing my homework.

I had the option of pdc delivery or have the car delivered to the dealer who did the deal with the broker (not in Florida). Chose to have car delivered to dealer and will ship from there to my house. The shipping from dealer to me is on my dollar of course.

BMWNA financing approval is good for 90 days with excellent credit scores and 60 days for good scores. I'm not sure where they draw the line but this is set by BMWFS. If you have marginal credit the approval may well only be 30 days but that's unusual. Most likely the dealer is pressuring you and not being upfront. In a custom order you get the pick the best incentives in the month you order, or any month until delivery.

My CA told me that I was locked for 90 days since September (west coast). I check with him multiple times and he said a new credit application will be submitted if I want to lock for October's incentive. As far as I know the incentive is from BMW not from the dealer so I am not sure why they would lie or press on me if I can just feely choose whatever month without resubmitting application.

Well- I don't think the incentives have got any better since August anyway. When I locked in at the beginning of August there was $2500 financing credit and $500 loyalty credit. By the time we took delivery we got an additional $500 because of the UDE rebate.
Ultimately ended up at about 13% discount before the CCA and federal tax rebate.

I don't know about August but I ordered the car in September and there is 0 finance incentive for the west coast but now they offer the $2500 finance incentive for October and to enjoy that, I would need to relock it (rerun credit application) according to my CA.

Send him a txt tomorrow morning "You are Fired. I bought my BMW from another dealer"

Where are you on the west coast. PM me. 7 Years going to one BMW center. No BS No Drama No fkking around.

If you follow my posts, I have already ordered 2 cars. Production number from Day 1. Haven't submitted the credit app yet. I will do credit app this month or next month. Doesn't matter, picking up both cars in Dec anyways.

How much of a production delay does the Merino leather option cause at this point, relative to the Vernasca leather?

I would say 0. My M50i with Tartufo Extended Merino Leather was at the dealership 21 days after I placed the order. Picked it up yesterday

As has been posted, currently there does not seem to be any extra delay when choosing Merino. Hopefully that does not change much in the future.
