Dumb that there is no message to tell you it’s too cold.
What year is your G05?

The HVB supplies the 12vdc needed to run most all electronics through a DC-DC converter, so the batteries will warm some just from the current draw. The EV motor is likely supplying power to them as well, which will warm them some. Batteries can’t provide a huge amount of power when cold or hot…cooling isn’t a big deal as they are actively cooled when necessary, but unlike most EVs, BMW PHEVs do not currently have battery heaters.

When I had an i3, on a super cold day, it would start to warm the battery up to 3-hours prior to a scheduled departure time. That vehicle had a 1Kw electric heater that would only come on if you were plugged in and set a departure time.

My ‘23 45e shows a thermometer on the battery icon on the lower right of the instrument cluster when the battery is too cold for EV driving.

I’m assuming that’s what happened. The reason I asked you about the year is I was thinking maybe this was a difference with the LCI. I have a 2023 and am in extreme northern VT. I’ve received the warning when I can’t run on battery.
