Problem is, at the time, everyone would have disagreed with you. Brad was the epitome of cool and set most of the trends (including the open shirts and stupid hats).
Im too old and practical to care, so for me its function. Although honestly I havent carried a messenger for a bit. Really slimmed down my kit with the ipad sleeve with the keyboard/pen and wallet and phone. Sounds like now its becoming more of a "dad bag" since you have to carry extra stuff. Now the only time I carry extra stuff on my person is camping, dog walking, or beach so its a tech daypack. For commuting all of my motorcycles have corresponding luggage, that was one of my original post-college uses of a messenger. |

I usually just wear a backpack. I do for work at least, where I have to carry my laptop to different buildings around campus. Luckily I'm young enough where I just blend in with the students.
If hiking or going on a day trip I have a small draw string backpack I bring. It's very light and perfect for a water bottle, bear spray, sunscreen, etc.

Chris Pine may have singlehandedly brought back the fanny pack if it weren't for the pandemic. I personally prefer a messenger bag when I cannot fit everything in my pockets. Whatever you do, try to coordinate the bag with your shoes...

I'll never understand or like fanny packs, IDGAF who wears them. They are ugly, uncomfortable, bulky, and can't even really fit much.

If you have Brad Pitt money and fame you could walk around in a dress and there would be chicks lined up to bang you.
As for celebrities in general... I think the reason they are considered "cool" is because of the characters they portray. Not because they walk around with a fanny pack in their personal lives. Anyone who would even know what Brad Pritt wears in his personal life probably doesn't need a man purse to proclaim their gay pride. To clarify... IMO a murse is something you carry around everywhere. Like women and purses. Not a backpack you take with you when you travel or you have some job that requires you lugging stuff around. I have several backpacks, but I don't wear them to go to the store. I don't even like shit in my pockets. Typically all I have are my wallet, car fob and phone. In the Model 3 I don't even need the fob which is great. Wish all cars would adopt using the phone as key and if everyplace accepted RFID payments and I could have a digital license.... that would be amazing! |

I've never really thought about it, but I have always carried bags. Mostly for professional reasons - company laptop and various EDC items, liquid stitch (I cut my fingers a lot), band-aids, contact case, glasses case, protein shaker, bottle of water, etc.
Currently carrying an OGIO back pack for business and this gem for my gym bag. It's small and fits perfect inside the 12 X 12 X 36 gym lockers. https://www.amazon.com/Evac-Plan-B-S...759517&sr=8-81 |

Lets see, phone, keys, car key, wallet, money, comb are a challenge for say slim fit slacks/jeans so a small side leather pouch where its not noticeable at first is practical.
Another small slim one sided back pack for change of clothes and freshen up toiletries depending on your schedule is a good idea also better than a supermarket plastic bag |

And yeah, they never made a lot of sense, not even back then when you would be putting your game boy in it. I guess now maybe the main reason might be phones. They have gotten so massive anymore they dont even fit into non-skinny jean pockets that well. Im rocking a 3 year old android phone because Im trying to NOT have to switch to iphone but I guess its going to be soon before they ditch the iphone mini. |

Dig around on amazon for tactical sling bags. Oddly enough, the one that I have is in heather grey, but I couldn't find one similar in that option. I'm sure you can find one in 18L on there. I've carried mine daily for over two years now and has held up remarkably well.

Quick tip: Real tactical bags are either battleship gray or cement gray. Murses are heather grey.
Fanny packs and Members Only jackets trigger some bad tape, but PLEASE don't bring back bicycle shorts. |

Hm. Guess I bought a murse then....as did everyone who bought a tactical bag apparently. The vast majority of tactical bags are black, green, desert sand or camo. I suppose I need to take my gun out of mine and put some lipstick and tampons in it.
