Vehicle is in for service and they gave me a GMC Yukon. I don't see how anyone can enjoy driving one of those on a daily basis. No offense to anyone who owns one.

Gross.

Have you tried to see if it can do a burnout yet? Rentals are great for climbing over curbs and parking blocks, rural offroading if you will.

If the RRS is the E92 M3 of the SUV world, the Yukon is a 1998 Camaro RS with 150,000 miles on it.

You can also smuggle people across the border inside the rear wheel well gap. So many things to gripe about with this thing.

Not even sure if your church van was worse or better. :

I dunno - I've drive the new Yukons and Tahoes and as long as they are in the Yukon Denali trim and the Tahoe LTZ trim, I thought they did a fantastic job from previous gens... I get why the price point is so much higher than previous as well...

Plus, the captains chairs in the back are not only comfortable for passengers but you can have some fun as well with some tinted windows...

Oh and even the Escalades are pretty spectacular... Again, with the right trim... Years past, they were just slightly tweaked versions of Yukon / Tahoe... Not so much anymore...

I only have experience with one other SUV, so my companion is fairly direct and somewhat skewed in price point.

The van at least had room for activities and everyone was so jealous, you could see it in their eyes.

The seats in this thing are convex. You just slide off of them to the left because there is about 8" between the seat and the door. Presumably because their target demographic's BMI is well into the obese category.

Mercedes & RR have been doing AC seats for some time.

Denali trim !!! Then come back and complain about it...

If I had kids, I'd look into one... Again, Denali trim - handles like a small sedan...

Plus, magnetic ride... So good...

Magnetic Ride....it needs something to hold that 10,000 lbs on the road....

No thanks. I hear ya and different trim levels can make a difference but.... trim can also only do so much. Still has same chassis, still has same over all proportions and dimensions. Undoubtedly everything drifts more to the luxury side of things as well. Surely still has the same electronic annoyances. Plus, with Denali trim you're right back up there in the RRS price point.

Keep in mind that my OP about this boat was in reference to driving it. If i were to be driven around in something, this would be ok, not optimal, but reasonably ok.

Don't get me wrong... I'd much rather have a X5M if I suddenly had a family... Maybe even a X6...

Actually, I think I'd be perfectly happy with X5D (MSport)... I just respect what the Americans have done with the new gen of Yukon/Tahoe/ Escalade - they are finally competitive...
