Hi All,

Recently got a 2019 X5 50i dealer car with low miles. Unfortunately since I didnt build the car it was almost impossible to find one with DHP. Love the purchase but I can feel the lean when cornering.

My question has anyone installed sway bars or stabilization bars after the fact and did it make a difference? Ive read that given its an Xdrive that you would want one front and back. Dont want to throw money away if its not noticeable.

Also, does BMW make them for the G05 (couldnt locate if they do) or is this an after market purchase? Are they difficult to install?

Any suggestions appreciated!

Your car already has both front and rear anti-sway bars (stabilizer bars). You may be able to fit ones that are more rigid. If you find stiffer stabilizer bars then it's not too difficult to swap them out but you may need to replace the bushing too. Normally I would start by looking at the higher performance BMW (X5M?) assuming they also use mechanical stabilizer bars and not eARS. I don't know what's out there in the aftermarket but I'm sure they're available.

That depends but it's a reasonable modification especially if you're keeping the car for a while and don't like how it handles in turns as is.

Ok now you motivated me to at least pursue. Would the dealer service depts have a clue or go to a speed shop?

Dealers? Probably not. However, some dealers are authorized Dinan centers and those may be clueful. You're probably better off with an independent shop in this case.

Do you have air??

My 50i does not lean very much and if in sport its solid. I do not have DHP. Adaptive is also a better ride IMO.

No I dont have air suspension. Its solid but I tend to drive hard and create my own problems.
