I also have the Individual extended leather Merino (coffee) and Individual dashboard but not an Individual color.

Maybe it's the color that causes the delay?

WTF....

I was suppose to be scheduled for June 8th Production after all of the delays. (original build date was April 14th)

When I track it online I went back and forth from Order Received to Scheduled for Production alteast 3-4 times now but it has been stuck in 112 scheduled for production for a few weeks.

Today I went back to status Order Received

Ugh...

My other order for a M550i has been punted. The 5-series is made in Dingolfing vs. the X5 which is made in Spartanburg. However, the delay seems to be related to problems with the supply chain so it's possible that Spartanburg is seeing some of the same issues. If that's the case, it's best to be patient since worker safety is more important than getting a new car. As supply chains start back up there will likely be more bumps in the process and some things could shut down again shortly after starting back up. Ford had to shut a plant a day after reopening.

I placed my order on 3/12 and the vehicle status changed from ordered received to production begins on 3/18. Since then, I have not been able get any update from the dealer or BMW. Just today, my car went from production begins to entering assembly line. Reached out to BMW Genius today and they stated that the estimated completion date is 5/22.

Still no transporter assigned to take my car from the UK port to dealer but at least my dealer has confirmed cars are being delivered to them. Hopefully not long now especially as we hopefully will remove another level of lockdown on 1st June.

Website says the following since yesterday morning:
"AWAITING CARRIER ASSIGNMENT
A carrier has been assigned to take care of your BMW."
The (2) statements seem to conflict. It is only 75 miles from Spartanburg to Charlotte. Hope it gets delivered soon.

For those in the states that has orders delayed due to covid what is your dealer telling you in regards to your rate/incentive lock being extended beyond 60 days?

I locked in my deal in March but won't likely see the car until July which is over the typical 60day lock. My sales guys is telling me not to worry and that my terms will be honored but just curious what others are being told in the same situation. Obviously if the deal gets better in July then I would go for that but what I am afraid is if the residual drops even more and they wipe out the loyalty credits....

When I met with my sales rep on 09MAR and prior to placing my order on 12MAR, I asked him what would happen if COVID-19 pushed my production into July, which is now when it is projected (week 30/20JUL) to begin production, and he told me I would still be entitled to receive the incentives that were offered at the time I placed my deposit/order. I also asked if lower rates became part of the BMW incentives (since rates were dropping at the time and BMW’S were higher than what I could get elsewhere but still worth it because of the other incentives) in the future what would happen and he told me I would be able to take advantage of the best option package available at the time of the full purchase, be it the original in force when I place my order, or a better, subsequent BMW incentive package.. None of this is in writing and lately my sales rep has not been very responsive to my status update requests, so I really have no idea what’s going on, but that is what I was told and wrote down in my spring pad notebook on those dates…

Pretty much identical to what my sales guy told me and the same experience i've been getting with my sales guy being near non responsive.

Hmm, perhaps we are experiencing their current situational protocol. Was hoping for something a little more encouraging than reticence...

According to him a bunch of customers orders just got cancelled by BMW so he's been trying to work things out with those people. Some that were getting 2020 are now forced to get a 2021 which might not carry the same incentives. Some have bigger issues because the car they want stops production for 2020MY so they are out of luck.

no idea.

As a side note, it's funny how many people here complain about having to wait 3 months from order to delivery, mostly Americans it seems. Try living in Europe with 3x, 4x the wait and seeing cars being delivered that were ordered months after yours :-)

Yes, I find that also strange. Is there a separate production line for US or North American orders? Or are US orders always priority and the rest of the world gets a slot when there are some production places left over? There is big difference in production time between US cars and the rest of the world. Certainly not FIFO production.

I am not happy with BMW. My car is complete and was supposed to be delivered (est) 5/22 5/23. The dealer has not been able to contact the carrier. They also reached out to BMW. I just called customer relations and asked them. They said that they have NO way to contact the carrier. In this day and age, it seems impossible that neither BMW or the dealer can contact the carrier. This seems like BS or a horrible system. This is my first BMW and I am not impressed by the company. I hope the car is better.
