Current end of lease X5M/X6M owners cross shopping M60i?

With the recent monthly lease prices for a '24 X5M/X6M that I have seen posted, any there any US based '20 and '21 X5M/X6M end of lease customers who have considered the '24 X5 M60/X6 M60? Seems that BMW NA with the LCI refresh of increasing the X5M price in a high interest environment and using the same S68 engine for the 1st time in a series model (X5/X6 M60i)-- what's the point? If I'm going have a $2400 month lease payment that is exotic territory such as Urus, Bentley, or MB G-wagon. Offering M colors such as Marina Bay Blue for the X5/X6 M60 and using so many M bits now on the M60i has diluted the M brand. I know of the X5M/X6M tune/chassis/suspension/M xDrive/MDM difference, but BMW NA might have priced the X5M/X6M a little too high for a mass produced car that is based on the X5/X6. The XM has $9,900 incentive money as that is a flop.

I was considering a 2024 LCI X6M vs the X6 M60i and ended up going with the M60i. Very pleased with the decision as this is the best overall vehicle that I have owned and have had more than I can remember.
We also live in S Florida where there are no twisties or other challenging roads where the full boat "M" suspension and handling would be utilized to any real degree. Love this ride, go for it.
Good Luck with what ever you choose.

What suspension did you spec?
How is the extended leather? As the full on M has full leather as a options.

When my lease was up on my 2020 X5MC back in June I weighed my options and decided the LCI just wasn't worth paying 7-800 more per month for an "updated" car that wasn't much of a update in my eyes. I also felt there was no way i would be happy after having the full M version with the looks to go with anything less so I ended up buying out my car. I figure my car is still mint and it has been pampered since day 1 so I'll drive it for a another year or two then reassess. Hopefully deals would be back by then and I could also check out the new M5 when its out.

I have no suspension options and am very happy but our driving here is straight flat roads exclusively.
I ordered the Merino leather but don't know if this is "extended". Seats are great. Pretty sure my dashboard is a synthetic and that is just fine by me as I could care less about leather on anything outside of seating surfaces. I'm sure the Sensafin would have been acceptable but I decided to opt for Merino.

Defeats the purpose of leasing to have full maintenance for 3 years of the lease—would not want to a have a hard driven M outside of warranty. I would only extend a lease for a few months if waiting for the new model to be released. Also why I would never purchase a used M, as the original owner should drive it hard as it was meant to be driven—otherwise, what’s the point of ownership.

I currently own a 22 X5MC & truthfully, if I was in the market for an X5M/X6M right now at the current price for the 2024 I personally would get the M60i or something else. That's just my opinion.

I purchased my X5MC for $128k OTD which I felt was a steal for the value at the time.

Now I cannot see myself spending current prices of the LCI without just looking elsewhere.

I don't like the way BMW deleted so many things inside the vehicle with the ID8 screen system and made the new exterior lighting look kind of cheap.

Unfortunately, X5M/X6M are now priced similarly to an Audi RSQ8 and MB GLE63S. I don't disagree that it's a lot more relative to the pre-covid prices but that's the current market. The other cars you mentioned, Bently, Urus, G Wagon are $3,000+ pee month.

I test drove X5M LCI and considered it but with options I wanted (all of them) it was almost $30,000 more than loaded X5M60i. Mine has Performance Pro suspension (used to be DHP), B&W and so on. Very happy with it. The only thing I missed is proper exhaust sound.
If money is not an issue and your top priority is performance then "M" is the way to go. It's an amazing SUV just too much for me personally.

I think you gave the most honest answer and the reality of the situation.

$2400 isn't going to get you into a Urus or Bentayga, and a G-Wagon isn't really exotic. XM has incentives because as you mentioned it's a flop. I see a fully loaded X5MC at about $8k more than it was pre LCI, and compare it to say, the RSQ8 and the other competitors in the space and can state that it's still priced below market, however do note that the deal is indeed worse.

Lack of 4 door comfort access
Lack of being able to fold the rear seats down from the trunk
And god knows what else they deleted to save money.

My M60i is very strong and fast for a 5,300 lb SUV. The LCI X5MC must be a mad man.

That’s why I’m on the fence currently driving a ‘21 X5M comp.

BMW certainly made it way less compelling to go for the X5M with the LCI by diluting the crap out of their M models.

Pre LCI it was easier to justify the 20-30K price difference compared to the non Ms mainly because of the engine alone.

Top that off with allowing M colors, M mirrors on other cars plus removing features just makes this a tough pill to swallow to spend that much more for less.

And limited allocations of the LCI X5M with a lower residual now than in the past.

This was why I bought out my lease for the first time. Still have warranty for another year then i'll reassess either keeping longer with extended warranty or get something new in 2024. Deals are coming back slowly but surely.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but there is a different lease money factor between the M60 vs X5M, as the F95 is a tad higher.

The LCI X5M should have had a slight power bump, such as the rumored LCI G82/G84 will have.

Carwow should do a drag race between Pre LCI M50, Pre LCI X5M, LCI M60, LCI X5M and throw in the XM the hell of it. Really curious to know what the outcome is because it doesn't make sense that the S68 has the mild hybrid system/"new" engine but bmw hasnt advertised any performance benefits. It would have certainly made it more compelling to folks to actually get more after paying more. Take aesthetics out of the equation the LCI actually lost more functionality than it gained.
