BMW OEM sunshade
Anybody find a good price on a OEM sunshade for the G05?
Looks like the list is $80 which is a little much. The part number I'm seeing is: 82-11-2-473-371.My local dealer has none. Another on Ebay had X7 but backordered on the X5. |

Hope this helps. -Tony

Thanks- I checked them, sounds good except on checkout they want $20 shipping. Couple other places have it, best I'm finding is about $75 shipped. Just seems alot for a basically a coated piece of folding cardboard! Weathertech has one to for $70.

Yikes! OK. I have a buddy on eBay who sells BMW parts at discount. I've been meaning to purchase one as well so let me see what his price (plus tax & shipping) would be, and I'll let you know.

Some BMW dealership’s parts department will price match other dealership’s prices. If you find an online dealership’s price is better...copy it or show it to your local BMW dealership’s parts department sales clerk and ask if they will price match because you’d prefer to “spend your money locally”. You may get surprised and they say yes...which will only leave your local sales tax (if you have states sales tax) which will usually be less than shipping and handling costs from the out of town dealership or vendor if the finals costs are below free s&h charges. Nothing ventured....nothing gained.

Hey Guys,
Update on the BMW Sunshade. I got a reply back from the eBay seller (who works for an East Coast BMW dealership and sells the items at a reduced price on eBay), and he said that the BMW G05 sunshade is out of stock nationwide. He did have a few other BMW OEM sunshades, albeit not directly called out for the G05 -- He was going to test them on the G05 and see if any work. Will update you when I hear from him.

Thanks for the update. Checked several FL dealers & are out of them so this makes sense. Hopefully one of the others will work for the G05. |

When I was looking for the BMW Sunshade for my E60, I read a few post about buying direct from the OE makers of the sunshade. Same fitment just without the large BMW logo. I forgot the name of the maker and end up getting an OEM BMW one instead at the time. Maybe an option if people don't wanna wait or don't want the BMW logo on the outside. Maybe someone can find the maker.
Edit: Covercraft I believe is the OE (not 100% sure) https://www.covercraft.com Different color options as well. You may be able to locate other dealers that sells these sunshade cheaper or better shipping. I'm not affiliated. But I might pick up the blue one for my phytonic blue x5. I have update myself on the G05 sunshade. Checked around quite a bit. Looks like they are out of stock everywhere. I did find one dealer who is listing it for $62.50 & offering free shipping on all parts orders. I just backordered one.

BTW: My BMW supplier source has yet to find an alternate BMW OEM sunshade that will fit the G05. I guess the Covercraft option seems to be available. Cheers, -Tony

https://www.mybimmerparts.com/oem-pa...38-82112473373. I'm guessing this won't work with the X5 due to different front wind screens. This one was cheaper than the one on www.covercraft.com. Plus, free shipping! |

Just ordered! Thank you. Was having a hard time finding one and it's about to heat up in Arkansas.

After lots of searching I found a genuine BMW 82-11-2-473-371 sunshade at a CA dealership. Only one they had. Paid list minus BMWCCA discount. Don't know why these are so scarce, been 1 1/2 years since the G05 has been out. And I confirmed the X7 version ending in 373 that seems to be more available will not fit the X5 properly. Also the covercraft would be fine, but keep in mind while a little cheaper does not include the storage bag, which they want a extra $10 - so the same as the BMW.

Heatshield that rocks
I found a great sunshade some years ago. They are custom cut for the X5 and you can score sunshades for the sides and rear windows too. Moreover, they actually keep the car cooler. The front, sides and rear windows are $160.00.
Take a look: https://www.heatshieldstore.com/car-...020-bmw-x5-suv |

Just received the BMW sunshade today - completely impressed.
Best quality sunshade I have seen, can't believe how hefty it is. And the fit is spot on perfect- have to take the detector down, but no getting around that. Nice storage bag as well. If you can find one it's the bomb. |
