Sorry for the clickbait, Enjoy!

EDIT: Turn On Subtitles

Perhaps you should post the Cayenne too. Be better than click bait...

I wish they tested a 50i with DHP because the anti roll bars will make a difference

Huge difference. It’s a completely different beast.

Yep, perhaps they will also test one. The moose test is cool to way h because you can see how the car handles under different conditions than the usual

So they did not attempt in Sport mode? Do we know if it had air?

interesting. Never heard of the moose test before. Looked pretty solid through the slalom even though they state it was only satisfactory, how much better do you need for this size and type of vehicle. I would say overall BMW did another great job with the new x5.

the body roll is pretty bad and sport mode made no difference per the video. they did not state what suspension set up it had. I think the DHP on a 50i would stay flatter but we would need to see a test.

Narrator mentions that the X5 has rear steering (2VH IAS) in the video which is included in DHP (ZDH) on 50i.

It's a bit heavier too so the better suspension has more work to do. It would be great to see a heads up comparison showing how awesome DHP performs.

it's also an option on the 40i and that one is clearly not a 50i. the biggest part of the DHP are they anti roll bars otherwise you can get everything else in other packages

edit: looks like a F15 X5M in this video but it stays way flatter due to the anti roll bars (or better suspension) despite being heavier of course. This should at least give you an idea of what I mean by saying they help a lot.

Ah you're right - thought I saw two exhausts per tip. It's actually a 30d

I just knew it wasn't a 50i but the 30d/40i should have similar suspension set ups.

Wondering how much IAS contributed to the agility of the X5 during the tests.

It performs more than adequate for 80% of consumer
X5 owners.

40i should behave better because of lighter engine.

You're absolutely correct, forgot diesels use heavier blocks.

Cayenne must have some shitty tires to throw the back end out like that. Body control in the Slalom is much better than the X5. I'd like to know what packages each one has for their suspension, tires etc but they never really say a whole lot

You should've posted both up front

That’s the point of click bait hehehe.

I see you have an X3, here it is for comparison....

Don't like click bait but knew what was in the OP. My M40i with M suspension is so damn stiff (that one didn't looked like a 30i M sport or 30d judging by the exhaust. From experience and the 15k miles I've driven mine it stays flatter more like the Cayenne and less like that X5 in hard corners (I drive it how the car is intended). Perhaps someone needs to test the sportier varieties and do a comparison. I'm sure other people who've owned the M40i or own an X5 with DHP will agree

That help?

Me too. I have put my 50i M-Sport through my mountain roads at way beyond even sporting speeds and it was amazingly composed. These are the same roads I put my 911 C4S on and shockingly the big SUV performed beyond what I expected it to do. A SUV regardless what you do to it will never handle like a 911 but it certainly handles like a sports sedan and that’s quit a achievement.
